I’d go scorched earth

1. Fund the wall
2. DACA’s whom work, pay taxes, never received government assistance, and have a college education get citizenship.
3. Anybody not meeting the above terms goes home
4. Anybody wanting asylum must request it at the embassy office closest to their place of residency.
5. Anybody who enters the country illegally will be considered an enemy combatant and treated as such.

Government stays closed until it’s approved.

I’ve heard this before - is it DOD?

If so, the only real question is can he legally use it for a border wall. That would be the National Emergency yes?

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” House Armed Service Committee chairman Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA) said President Donald Trump does have the authority to declare a national emergency and have the military build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Host George Stephanopoulos asked, “Does President Trump have the ability, have the authority to declare a national emergency and have the military build his wall?”

Smith said, “Well, unfortunately, the short answer is yes. There is a provision in the law that says the president can declare an emergency. It’s been done a number of times, but primarily it’s been done to build facilities in Afghanistan and Iraq. In this case, I think the president would be wide open to a court challenge saying, where is the emergency? You have to establish that in order to do this. Beyond that, this would be a terrible use of Department of Defense dollars.” LINK

This is the part I’m talking about. When the caravan was forming and heading north, absolutely. Maybe it was a missed opportunity.

I think it’s a little more difficult now. But there should be enough data. Drugs. Trafficking. Crimes. Etc.
