Your post reflects why our country has lost all it's morals.
When people refuse to see that abortion is murder of the most innocent and most dependent human being of it's mother then ........

The abortion hill could be the hill that trump dies on. I’m MAGA through and through, but this makes me nervous. Trump won’t be able to sit this one out. The media will make him take a stance. Nothing will bring the dems out to vote like the perceived threat of ending legal abortion.

It's not settled. Abortion culture is murder culture. If it's a powder keg issue now imagine doing it even further down the road when abortion continues being used as contraception, and lauded as heroic for another 10 or 20 years. I'm not glad that it hurts our odds for re-election, but it's good that murder is being talked about again.

Besides, Alabama law is not 49 other states' law.

They can simply go to another state to perform their procedure if it's that imperative. Let the states govern themselves a bit on this and reduce the national tension.

Agree it’s pretty crazy to push right now. The right time would be in trump term 2 and if he replaces RBG. The smart move would be to focus on banning late term abortions

We're still almost a year and a half from election day. Two weeks from now it will be forgotten and we'll be talking about something else.

You are joking , right ?

Nothing is more extreme than late term abortions.

NOT EVEN CLOSE !

Didn't those frickers light up buildings and have t-shirts made in celebration ?

The Libs got the ball rolling on this shite.

There are plenty of dem sound bites that dont matter now, even though they have flipped on their stance for votes

Yep, that is correct. It hysterical how stupid that side is when it comes to their "saviors" talking one way one day and another the next. They aren't smart enough to realize that they are not a concern to them and never will be unless it's about getting votes. I'll end with this, look at all the big cities controlled by Dims, I rest my case...

Great advice. Stall out on the battlefield when momentum in on your side. Give your opponents time to regroup and change the narrative.

That is as bad of advice as when the GOP "leadership" would listen to the press and democrats about strategy.

The hard core leftist who would "mobilize" only on abortion are already voting. The more centrists democrats are likely pro-life to some extent. You have the left pushing for abortion up to and even after birth - a lot of centrist type voters are not going to vote for a democrat. In fact the current indications are the issue can attract cross over voters.

Even if not, when you have the opportunity to vanquish your opponent you do so.

I’m not worried about the country’s morals as a whole. I worry about me and my family’s morals. Abortion, while I feel maybe immoral for me and mine- although if one of my family members became pregnant from rape or incest I be ok with said female deciding to end a pregnancy of this kind-doesn’t mean my morals should dictate everyone else’s as a national collective.

I’m more worried about my personal finances, educating my kids, making sure they are productive members of society, and that the nation has a strong military to ward off invaders be it by air, sea or land.

It's funny. We hear nothing but how abortion is evil and murder but when someone actually tries to do something about it, all I hear is "it's not the time" "Republicans can't die on this hill" "it hurts reelection".

Is it too "inconvenient" for y'all to fight now? If you don't support this bill and it's intent, I never want to hear any of you rag Democrats ever again about abortion. Ever.

this is correct. Nothing will unite the left like Abortion.

Its a sure fire way for the right to lose power.

If we made a law that all pregnant illegals must receive an abortion as a condition to remaining in the U.S. while awaiting their hearing,

would the left be OK with that?
Of course not.

Abortion is one of the VERY few issues on which the Dems advocate AGAINST government involvement in issues that should be entirely free of governmental interference. I do not see them agreeing to mandatory abortions (for ANYONE), under any circumstance.

Trump is not going to make abortion a centerpiece of his campaign.

You sure about that? Maybe not "the" centerpiece but judging by the meetings his re=election team is having and with whom I would say it will be one of the main themes.

It was a talking point, but that's not what he campaigned on in 2016.

Trump's real momentum didn't get going until he listened to an adviser whose name escapes me and listed his judges. That signaled he was serious about the life issue. Even so some of the biggest pro-life names stayed on the sideline during the 2016 cycle. They are now firmly supporting Trump.

quote:

He's more than content to leave the GOP out in the cold to fend for themselves on this issue.

Which Donald Trump are you watching? The one I see is firmly and strongly courting pro-lifers. He has spoken to the March for Life which he is the first sitting president to do so. He also has reached out privately via VP Pence to Abby Johnson (Unplanned) and offered support.

By his actions, Donald Trump is one of the most pro-life presidents since Roe v Wade was decided. He isn't walking away from the issue or letting "the GOP fend for themselves".
