He should make it seem like he’s not going to show and then show up last minute to make ABC & the Dems scramble. Kamala wouldn’t know what to do.

I find it interesting that your first thought is “he thinks Trump shouldn’t back out of the debate? He must be a Kamala voter” rather than “he thinks Trump shouldn’t back out of the debate? He must think Trump will mop the floor on ABC!”
That said, I’d like to see him press her about harmful climate change policies and how his plans for tariffs will bring manufacturing back.

Trump’s excuse will undoubtedly be that ABC is.biased (true). But how’s anyone going to believe Trump will ”drain the swamp” if he can’t (or won’t) even show up for a debate?

The correct thing to do would trade it off- do one on abc and then do one on Fox.
This strategy by Kamala campaign is them trying to weasel out of a full debate schedule by pushing Trump campaign to do the previously agreed to schedule that was agreed to when Biden was the candidate.
Trump campaign should counter and push for the traditional full 3 debate schedule with Kamala after the DNC.

FWIW, same applies to advertising. If candidate A pays $20 for a commercial, it doesn’t mean they have to give candidate B a commercial for free to create “equal time” But if candidate B wants to pay $20 for a commercial, they have to sell it to him, and they can’t charge him a different price.
