House has the right to have the sergeant at arms arrest and forcefully bring lawmakers back to the house for voting sessions in order to obtain quorum. I don't think they will be imprisoned, but they can be arrested and brought back to the house chamber to vote.

I think this is correct. Since “arrested” implies criminal action “detained” would probably be more accurate.

media is going to have a field day with this even though it is by the book. They'll be calling it a direct attack on our democracy.

ETA: I wonder if it's legal for Abbot to freeze their government paychecks.

They should have state police waiting on the runway with television crews.

Handcuff them as they exit the plane while live news is filming

This isn’t going to end well. This will only allow them to play themselves up to the liberal masses as martyrs fighting for democracy.

You’re thought is not part of the problem, it is the problem.

Dude, who gives a frick about optics anymore. No one gives a shite. Arrest their fricking arse - that will get their attention. Ignoring it because it may cause a ruckus is so RINO that it hurts.

Who is paying for the $100k private jet travel for these modestly paid public servants? Who is paying for the however many days of likely lavish food and accommodations in DC?

And this is the strategy (Quorum) that Republicans should employ if Chuck and Nancy do the Reconciliation thing for their crap. WALK OUT.

This intent should me made known right now, while it's on the front burner. No more hypocritical double standards.

Who cares.

You know they will practice the song they plan to sing while waddling to the bus that will take them to the Capital like they are on a damn chain gang.

They will look like jackasses-- especially the men-- and will only impress soy queers. Nobody with any sense buys into that melodrama.

Arrest them, get them there for the quorum, complete that process, then load them into the helicopters.
