Sadly you're right. I would honestly rather send my kids to Tech these days bc at least you're still pretty conservative.

This is a relatively new thing. My kid is an Aggie, Tech, and Baylor Grad. When she was at TAMU in the late 2000's. TAMU was conservative. I think that charged in the Sharp Admin. That dude was toxic and had been a leading Dem in Texas Politics. Who couldn't see that coming.

Our students use the published information in the course catalog to make important decisions about the courses they take in pursuit of their degrees. If we allow different course content to be taught from what is advertised, we let our students down. When it comes to our academic offerings, we must keep our word to our students and to the state of Texas.

The student can disagree all she wants. I disagree as well. It’s not illegal to teach that, especially in college. Her whole premise of it being “illegal” was incorrect.
Student was appropriate and respectful. Teacher handled it OK.
And the student obviously was not kicked out.
Edit: I stand corrected. I caught the earlier sentence where the teacher said she could leave if she disagrees. Now I hear the last sentence before it cut off when she said “it’s time for you to leave“
Now, as others have pointed out, the course was not consistent with the course content description. The university handled it appropriately by removing the dean and whoever.
