This isnt necessarily true. Most people dont actually pay attention to the news. They have no clue whats going on. They read headlines only.

He tried to pass it off as a summation of the conversation. He flat out made it up. When called on it, as has been said repeatedly, he said "oh, it was a parody". And people like Commodedawg bought it.
Given his intent, what he should have done is read the transcript then said "But what we all know he meant was" and then proceeded with his lie.

Not true. Nancy Pelosi herself admitted she hadn't read it. If the Speaker can't be expected to read it, why should anyone else? They can just rely on Mr. Schiff to read it and tell them what it said. Which he did. By using the SNL method of Parody.

Schiff knew damn well what he was doing and it wasn't "parody". He knew that the hearings were on national television and that he could rile up a bunch of Trump haters because most of them would believe Schiff was repeating things that Trump actually said.
