A rebel group has crossed over into Russia with US vehicles??

Ukraine says it is a rebel group of Russians who are against Putin and not affiliated with the Ukranian govt. BBC is saying some reports indicate they have US military vehicles but not confirmed yet.

Ukraine sent about 50 men dressed as Russian militia, in a few vehicles and one tank into the villages on the outskirts of Belgorod, a city near the Ukraine/Russia border, 50 miles northeast of Kharkiv.
39 of them were killed, and 5 taken prisoner.

Well known for almost a year. All former Russian military. A lot of Russian POW's opted to join them.

they weren't brave enough to face combat units in Bakhmut. gotta attack civilians like Islamic terrorist always do.

They're called Liberation of Russia, and they're a small number of anti-Putin Russians. Mostly deserters from the Russian Army. Their numbers are exaggerated. Zelensky claims there are around "Two Battalions" worth, but realistic estimates put it closer to 100 men or so. And Ukraine arms and pays for them (which means WE arm and pay for them), so the "not affiliated" thing is an out and out lie.

This was a PR op meant to distract from losing Bahkmut. They ran across the Russian border, made some noise, and ran right back.

All the men identified so far are Russian neo-Nazis who went over to the Ukrainian side either in the aftermath of 2014, or after the invasion in 2022.

Some of them fled almost immediately, those that stuck around got turned into meat pockets.
What did they expect with no support going so far deep behind their lines.
But hey, Ukrainians forgot loss of Bakhmut and killing of their two top Generals.
The Zaluzhnii guy, head in command is still missing and nobody seems to get a video of him.
Ukrainians are playing Weekend at Valeri's with him. Huge loss for Ukros because he was apparently a good general.
