It reminds me of a flag you’d see flying at a fort protecting an island bay in the 17th century.

It was part of the deal to change the flag that any new design must contain In God we trust

That is fantastic design and is far superior than anything I expected Mississippi could come up with.
No offense to the posters who put up other choices/favorites, from from a design perspective the one in the OP is leaps and bounds better than those. If they don't go with that one they're absolutely insane.
