It’s embarrassing how poorly you know the Bible. The Pharisees were condemned by Jesus for putting their own traditions above the word of God. Mark 7:13

You are rejecting the word of God completely.

That is exactly what you do, and the fact you are incapable of seeing that is why I don't bother replying.

You quote 7:13...once again without context. Because the previous verses describe you.

7:6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.

7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.

8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.

9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death:

11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.

12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;

And what do you do? The same thing.

You give lip service to Jesus, you reject the commandment of God - and me for telling you to keep it.

And you do the same thing in as 7:11 when you speak of a "free gift" of the blood sacrifice rather than keep the commandments.

It's a collection of books chosen by men to create a universal religion in the Roman Empire. That's why all your holidays are Pagan.

Thats not historically correct. Christian and Pagan were at war with one another. Constantine, as a politician does, saw that the Christian faction were going to win so that's the side he picked and used Pagan holidays to help bring them over to Christianity.

Now the book has truth to it that is not even debatable. The words that Jesus taught and the meanings were all written about during the time that the people who lived during his time were still alive. So we know that is factual. I use the Bible to reinforce the teachings of Jesus. To say that we have God trapped in a book is basically trying to keep people from reading those words
You have twisted the meanings and words to propagate your agenda. You know exactly what you are doing and are frustrated that some of us know what you're doing.

You really should stop trying to debate FooManChoo. I've read his thoughts on Jesus Christ and he never waivers. He has literally cast a spotlight on your wrong doings and it's obviously frustrated you. You will never change his stance.

You just described exactly what I said. A universal state religion is built through political compromise.

There were multiple sects of Christianity after Jesus, but it wasn't called Christianity it was just refereed to as "the way". Meaning the way to keep the commandments.

After Jesus, there were multiple sects of believers who were not called Christians; they were referred to as "The Way." Meaning, the way to actually keep the commandments. The Pauline version you hold today was chosen by Rome over the others because the true sects taught that you had to rigidly keep the commandments, which was hard. The Pauline "free gift" was easy to accept. Through it, even the rich ruler whom Jesus turned away could suddenly be "saved" without changing his life.

The original people who actually followed Jesus were rejected by both mainstream Judaism and the Pauline movement. They were scattered, labeled as heretics, and wiped out by the Roman system. And the book you cherish has deep pagan roots left in it. Do you even know what walking on water actually refers to?

Lots of books have truth in them, it doesn't make them the word of God. Just because a book has a single truth, or many truths in it, doesn't mean it's all true either.

As for your claims, I tell people they must do more, not less. I tell people they have to keep the commandments - you are the one who tells them they don't. You are the one selling a free gift, I tell people it's up to them.

You are the one telling people they don't have to keep the commandments. I tell the rich man the same thing as Jesus - you must keep the commandments. You tell the rich man he only needs to believe in a free gift of the blood sacrifice of the man who told him he wasn't good enough.

Because the only thing saved by the death of truth is the lie, and that is what you worship and that is what you think saves you. It also saved the pharisees, satan and has made this world for what it is for 2000 years now.

And the lie will live until the truth returns.

If you followed Jesus, then you wouldn't be arguing with me.

It’s not what I do, but what you do. I read all of scripture. You cherry-pick based on what you already agree with and reject all else.

And you do reply. A lot.

quote:

The context only affirms what I referenced. You throw out the word of God based on your own oral tradition.

quote:

You must have a learning disability. I’ve said over and over again that I do not reject God’s commandments. I seek to obey them. What you are rejecting is the command to believe in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins, because you do not keep the commandments perfectly, and the soul that sins shall die. You need to be forgiven of your sins, and only the blood of Jesus can do that.

quote:

And you do the same thing in as 7:11 when you speak of a "free gift" of the blood sacrifice rather than keep the commandments.
No, Jesus said to believe in Him. You ignore that because you want to pretend that Jesus agrees with your perverse beliefs.

The free gift is salvation through Jesus’ obedience. Obedience comes as a fruit of being grafted into Jesus as the vine. You see your own obedience as meriting eternal life instead of Jesus giving His only Son for eternal life. You make everything about yourself while Christianity gives all glory to God.

I've told him multiple times he is incapable of ever receiving God. He is the one who chooses to argue.

I quoted the majority of the chapter you tried to use a single quote to take out of context.

You are a liar.

Jesus is what you worship, the idol.

The way, the truth, and the life is what I worship, the understanding and wisdom.

I've found the father.

You've found a book you have to blindly accept as the word of God to which you manipulate and take things out of context to create false narratives and to claim false things about me.

Because you are a Pharisee, and your guests are from the depths of hell.

I have already received God. I have received Jesus, the expressed image of God and the Son of God. I have the Spirit within me.

You do not have God because you reject His Son.

I’m arguing because you are leading people down the path that leads to destruction. No one can be saved by the works of the law.

You have replacements for God. That's why idol worship is a sin.

He actually has kept his posts to the word. I've read his post on religion for a long time. He has never waivered. Your ego doesn't allow you to consider his side. He has owned you in y'all's debate while you only continue with your twisted rhetoric.

Your quotation only confirmed my reference. I didn’t need to quote the whole chapter because the verse was not taken out of context.

You accused me of cherry picking when I almost always quote the entire chapter to include context.

Jesus literally mentioned how the Pharisees replaced keeping the commandments with gifts and traditions of men.

That is also what you do with the blood sacrifice. Instead of keeping the commandments, you've replaced it with a gift. And it's even worse than anything the pharisees ever did.

You worship a false God because you reject Jesus as God. You do not accept him as the propitiation for sins, and so you are not forgiven. You must turn from your idolatry and embrace the Son.

I've found the father.
As Jesus taught, if you do not have the Son, you do not have the Father. You have neither.

I have God’s revelation. You can read it, yourself.

You have a delusion. You have your own claimed private experience. You were likely visited by a demon and you take that word over God’s preserved revelation that came about through public ministry and miracles.

quote:

Because you are a Pharisee, and your guests are from the depths of hell.
You are the son of Satan. You do not have the truth in you and you try to deceive others with your lies. You have nothing but your own words. No one should believe you.

There is no replacement for God. There is only God—Father, Son, and Spirit.

You deny the Son, so you do not worship God, but an idol of your own making.

This is a pretty shitty thread, that’s a fair point, but it’s not bothering me. More worried about you guys. Arguing about religion on the internet is awful.

You worship a book.

quote:

As Jesus taught, if you do not have the Son, you do not have the Father. You have neither.

This is why you are a liar. I have explained this to you many times.

15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.

20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.

21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?

23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Jesus says it in verse 24 directly.

And what he is referring to is the truth, the way and the life. Which is exactly how I found God - inadvertently.

And what do you know, it says everything I claim. That you will learn, not from scripture as the Pharisees see, but by the holy ghost spirit.

This describes my experience completely.

But you deny in others what you lack and you lie to compensate for you.

Only if you seek the truth, the way and the light can you find the father. You worship an idol instead and that is why you are blind. That is why you will never find the father.
