You should ask Foo what he thinks about unrepentant open homosexuals portraying themselves as Christian.

Idol worship is literally the replacement of God.

You accused me of cherry picking when I almost always quote the entire chapter to include context.
You cherry-pick by ignoring the relevant context. Like with Mark 10. You didn’t even address the section immediately after the rich young man where Jesus said the trust in money is what makes it hard for the rich to go to heaven. That statement explains why Jesus engaged with the man the way He did.

You also ignore all the other verses where Jesus said to believe in Him for salvation. That is what I mean by cherry-picking. You can quote an entire chapter, but if you interpret it outside of the context it was written in, you are still cherry-picking.

And that didn’t even mention the fact that you literally pick and choose which verses you accept. You accept some verses if they agree with you, and others that disagree with you, you reject entirely.

quote:

Jesus literally mentioned how the Pharisees replaced keeping the commandments with gifts and traditions of men.
Jesus was talking about the commandments of men that were not given by God and recorded in the Bible. The Pharisees had their oral traditions that they claimed were handed down from Moses, but then disobeyed the direct commands from God as recorded in the Scriptures.

You are the Pharisee, because you accept your own tradition and reject the word of God.

quote:

That is also what you do with the blood sacrifice. Instead of keeping the commandments, you've replaced it with a gift. And it's even worse than anything the pharisees ever did.
I am obeying the commandment of God by believing in His Son. You have rejected Jesus as a sacrifice for sin, so you are still standing guilty before God. You have no hope. You worship a god that is neither holy nor just.

Jesus explained why he couldn't keep the commandments. He turned him away.

You won't turn the rich man away. You will tell him he only need to accept the free gift.

I will turn the rich man way.

You replaced keeping the commandments with the death of Jesus.

You are 1000 times worse than the Pharisees could even dream of being.

Calling me a pharisee while at the same time crying because I won't accept the bible/scripture is the word of god is the acme of ignorance and lies.

Again, you've replaced keeping the commandments with something else.

I have been forwarding your post to 2 different Preachers and both have stated your words and the twisting of the verses are clearly satanic

I wouldn't expect them to say anything other than the Pauline doctrine, so that's not why I said it didn't happen.

There is no way you could have possibly forwarded all the things I've said in this thread.

You seem to think I'm a Christian, when in fact I think your religion is absolutely disgusting.

You worship a book.
No, I worship the God who inspired the book. You reject God's words, so you reject the God who inspired them.

This is why you are a liar. I have explained this to you many times.
This is what I mean by cherry-picking. You think by quoting a large section, that you are actually interpreting the Bible in-context. You aren't, because you reject everything else Jesus said.

quote:

Jesus says it in verse 24 directly.
Yes, He commanded His disciples to obey Him. He goes on in chapter 15 to explain what that looks like. If you are in Christ (by faith), then you will produce good fruit, which is obedience. Jesus makes a direct connection between between Himself and obedience. Those who are "in" Him will product good fruit (obedience).

What you are teaching is that you don't even need Jesus to have the Father. All you need is to obey the commandments and God will accept you. That's not what Jesus taught. You are cutting out the most important part: Jesus.

quote:

And what he is referring to is the truth, the way and the life. Which is exactly how I found God - inadvertently.
You admit that it was inadvertent. How, then, can you come here and preach to just ask God for understanding when you didn't even do that? You were sucked out of your consciousness. How can anyone else do that?

quote:

And what do you know, it says everything I claim. That you will learn, not from scripture as the Pharisees see, but by the holy ghost spirit.

This describes my experience completely.
Jesus was talking about the coming of the Holy Spirit after Jesus left, and that was documented in the book of Acts. Jesus still sent the disciples out in Matthew 28 to teach the world what Jesus had taught them, and Jesus taught them from the Scriptures (Old Testament) all the things concerning Himself. Jesus supported the Scriptures and taught His disciples that they would teach the Church, and the Spirit would come to help them remember all those things. The Spirit wasn't giving them contradicting information.

So no, that's not how you learned. You have learned contradictory things to what Jesus taught, and what the rest of Scripture teaches, therefore, whatever it is you have, is not from God. You certainly can't use the Bible to support what happened to you as being from God because you reject what the Bible says. You don't even accept it as God's word.

quote:

But you deny in others what you lack and you lie to compensate for you.
I deny nothing but the lies you teach here. Jesus said we are to obey God, and I obey Him to the best of my ability, and repent when I fall short. Jesus commanded us to believe in Him, and that He came for the forgiveness of sins.

You focus on the law and not on Jesus, who came to obey the law. You reject Jesus' death for the forgiveness of sins, and so you deny the gift that Jesus provided. You need to turn from your sins and obey by first submitting to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

quote:

Only if you seek the truth, the way and the light can you find the father. You worship an idol instead and that is why you are blind. That is why you will never find the father.
You reject Jesus, so you reject the only God that exists. You reject the Father because you reject the Son. You are blinded by your sin, and you must repent.

It's sick, and such people need to turn from their sin and run to Christ for forgiveness, which He will provide if they trust in Him by faith.

ETA:
Homosexuality is sick, but all sins are sickening to God. All of us struggle with our own sinful proclivities, and all of us need to examine ourselves, repent to God, ask for His forgiveness, and receive that forgiveness through trusting in Jesus Christ. No one is too far gone in their sin to be saved. All that is needed is to believe upon the Lord Jesus Christ and to repent of our sins by faith.

Satan is what you worship, that's why I find it disgusting.

It's the religion about Jesus, not the religion of Jesus. More specifically, it's the religion about the death of Jesus and how the death of the truth, the way and the light is what saves you.

And it's not wrong exactly, the death of those things will save you - if you are a sinner and of the lie. It saved the people who had him murdered too. In this life anyway.

Your first act as a Christian is to break a commandment.

You claim it's in context when you skip across multiple books and quote a verse here and there.

And then claim it's cherry picking when someone quotes large portions with context.

Go back and look at the very first verse I quote in the Mark response. That was on purpose.

It then went on to demonstrate the pharisees replaced doing that first verse I quoted with other things instead. Which as I said, is what you do.

I quoted it in large part because it was the context leading up to your quote, and it funny enough addressed the very thing you were ignoring and arguing against - and still do.

quote:

Yes, He commanded His disciples to obey Him. He goes on in chapter 15 to explain what that looks like. If you are in Christ (by faith), then you will produce good fruit, which is obedience. He says if you love him you will keep the commandments.

He says if you believe in him, you will keep the commandments.

To keep obey and keep the commandments is to REPENT for them. Do you even understand what the word repent means beyond "Say Jesus is Lord and believe the blood of his death saves you"?

And the rest is just more bullshite with you changing the words and meaning of what Jesus said using Paul.

Jesus told the man to follow Him. He didn't want to do that because it meant giving up his god--his wealth. The man trusted in his riches and he wouldn't trust in Jesus, which is why Jesus turned him away. He violated the first commandment, like you are doing right now by not worshipping Jesus.

quote:

You replaced keeping the commandments with the death of Jesus.
No, Jesus fulfilled the commandments, so because I'm in Christ by faith, I have kept the commandments by imputation; Jesus' obedient righteousness is imputed to me and my sin-guilt is imputed to Him, so now I am accepted by the Father for the sake of His Son.

You have rejected Jesus and have taken on the burden of perfect obedience. You cannot be perfect as you need to be, and therefore you will die in your sins, not having them covered by the blood of Jesus. You need to repent to turn to Christ.

quote:

You are 1000 times worse than the Pharisees could even dream of being.
I am not. You are the one who reject the word of God for your own oral tradition, so you are the Pharisee. You think you are saved by good works (obedience), and you don't even realize that even one sin is enough to damn you forever, and there is not enough good works and obedience you can do to make up for your sins against an infinitely holy God. That's why you need the blood of Christ, which is of infinite worth, to cover you.

quote:

Calling me a pharisee while at the same time crying because I won't accept the bible/scripture is the word of god is the acme of ignorance and lies.
you are putting your own traditions over the word of God, and think your good works (obedience) saves you. You are the Pharisee, and your ignorance of the Bible proves it.
