Unaccompanied tour Camp Casey, that's my experience. I also had and have an SCI clearance. So I smell trip to DPRK by a fresh out of college or in college gringo as bullshite. I don't need to debate it. I'm not your inquisitor so I'm not about to interrogate you. I don't really care.

We started change in China with a favored nation trade agreement. I've often wondered why we haven't tried the same tactic with North Korea. The trade sanctions and isolationism obviously haven't gotten us very far.

So they had to be accompanied the entire time and never out of sight of the authorities? They did get to see some cool stuff though.

This must have been a Potemkin Village tour. Being the only people eating in that restaurant was kind of creepy.

Say what you will, but North Korea at least looks beautiful.

The two situations are very different. Nixon and Kissinger first met with Mao because they wanted to avert a war between China and the Soviets and play the two off of each other. Also, Mao had indicated a willingness to end the Cultural Revolution and at least listen to the reformist ideas of the Zhou Enlai/Deng Xiaoping camp.

North Korea will get the stick for as long as they remain militarily and economically hostile.

Yes, it does! The top of Mt. Baekdu would be amazing to see in person.

I'd argue that it's easier to topple a totalitarian regime with an iphone than it is the US military. Any trade agreement with NK would ultimately lead to the regime's downfall.

Enter their tournament. I computed the costs at about 2K. Was gonna enter but my partner chickened out and I'm not going alone.

It's hilarious how many people pretend to know so much about what I believe and have propounded.

Finally agree with Rex on something.

I would like to take that same trip. Amazingly beautiful land, and the mountain view down into the lake was gorgeous and serene looking.

The visiting DPRK is the bullshite part of his story, particularly since he's in the military. Anyone with any sense knows that.
I visited North Korea when I was in the Army stationed in South Korea. My visit lasted just long enough to take a piss while on patrol in the DMZ.

I did the same thing at GTMO. There's one spot along the fenceline where you can cross call the NorthEast Gate. There is a yellow line painted on the ground. I used to piss into Cuba all the time when I was on post out there by myself.
