How delusional do you have to be to think Russian collusion wasn't THE biggest talking point for our friends on the left the past 3 years.

It's a new phenomenon called #mytruth. We used to call this "my side of the story"(which was generally a coin flip on whether it was bullshite or not), but this sounds much better.

List them. This should be good.

I saw the downvotes, but persisted to read because I thought “perhaps he posted something truthful that just hurt the groupthink I believe this board may be a slave to in some situations.”
Then I read this. Stopped reading and downvoted.
I truly hope you didn’t pay for, and read this entire book, man. If so, you got scammed. Sorry.

The two sides are not, in fact, equal when it comes to evaluating “news” stories, or even in how they view reality. Liberals want facts; conservatives want their biases reinforced. Liberals embrace journalism; conservatives believe propaganda.

How did I know this thread wasn't going to contain any actual truth?

So a book full of propaganda confirms your beliefs and then you run with it as fact
Where have I seen this before.....

There are no significant Web sites on the left that parallel the chronic falsity of those on the right, and the upstream sources do follow traditional journalistic standards, and serve “as a consistent check on the dissemination and validation of the most extreme stories when they do emerge on the left, and have no parallels in the levels of visibility or trust that can perform the same function on the right.”
how anyone can say this about the liberal, mainstream media right now is stunning to me

I just read the article and according to the researchers, instead of verifying the accuracy of a bulk of news reports from various left and right sources, they simply took case studies in obviously false stories and saw how much traction they caught on the extremes of the ideological media. They conclude that the right’s propaganda has more staying power than the left’s.
I might read this book because it will be interesting see which stories were decided upon to follow and why.
i'm curious when the "research" ends, because i could definitely see the arguments being more valid IF they ended in November of 2016
since then, however, calling this "research" laughable would be an insult to the term laughable
also, the truly ironic conspiracy theory (that turned out to be true) was that Hillary coordinated with the mainstream, liberal media to win the DNC primary...which was proven to be 100% true.

Kind of leaves one with a feeling of hopelessness. How can something so resoundingly obvious be so flagrantly denied. I try very hard to see it from their viewpoint, but I come up with no plausible justification for such. Not even a farfetched one. Incidentally, they really cant explain it beyond the bold type talking points either. Pretty much like the rest of their stances.

because people live in bubbles now and seek reinforcement within that bubble. that's why this study is so hilarious
the left-bubble, especially among the more educated faction, states that they seek facts and are above conspiracy theories because of their massive intelligence. only those dumb, rural-living rednecks fall for conspiracy theories and "Fake News" like Fox
the right-bubble, promotes the idea that they seek facts over emotions because of their inherent understanding of human nature that those purple-haired liberals reject in their concrete jungles so they can feel better about their freakshow/unnatural lives.
