I learned two things from the OP:

1. The OP is a condescending prick for assuming we didn't already know all that stuff.

2. I did not know all that stuff.

I think that Paris has changed for the worse; Trump said so...he knows Paris. The massive immigration changes the very heart and soul of what makes a Country...and much of Europe will never see the unity and prosperity of it's former days. And we are not far behind; "The Fourth Turning" nails it. Challenging times ahead.

Then things get complicated. In order to win the Presidency or a seat in the National Assembly, you have to have 50% + 1 of the vote. If no candidate in a race hits that mark, the top two candidates go to a run-off.

Uh duh. We live in Louisiana so we know how this shite goes down.

Why are you making this list?

Because at least one person's going to make a thread on 23 April talking about how x candidate is now the President of France despite it going to a run-off.

Bump because exactly this happened...

and the 2 you listed 1st make the runoff - nicely done

looks like Fillon would have likely made it without the scandal, based on this thread, I thought he might make it anyway (because he had the support of older folks who typically turn out better everywhere)

He's the candidate for En Marche!, a 'centrist' party that he formed last year after resigning from President Francois Hollande's government. His key policies are cutting the corporate tax rate to 25%, merging benefit systems, allowing companies to negotiate on the work week, local housing tax exemptions.

Ok so ... what's the entirety of the story on this guy. There's more to it than the above.

He worked for the Rothschilds for years before joining the political scene. He is their hand picked nominee. They helped finance and form his party.
