Erika found out about the curse, and had a priest pray over him the night before. There is real evil out there, it’s not be messed with.

Political violence is terrible, but we should not forget historic events like the Salem witch trials, satanic panic, etc. They were the clickbait of the era, but they had no substance.

Satan works in all sorts of ways. So yes, people should never be looking for the devil around every corner, or should not be scared of the devil.
But they should be aware of his existence so they can see how he tries manipulate things
