Every republican voter here needs to understand something. There are three groups in Congress.
1. Dims that get elected by dims and or fraud.
2. Repbulicans that are really dims or they are blackmailed by dims or have their family threatened.
3. Normal people.
Group three is by far the smallest group. To get elected to speaker you can't be a staunch conservative that doesn't have dim strings attached because group 2 and 3 will never elect you.
Sure some in group 2 will vote for you but that is ONLY to secure your belief in them. If their vote would elect and honest man then they will not be allowed to vote for that person.
So that only leaves two groups. Dims and compromised republican Rino's.

It is possible that swing district GOP reps may go independent and vote for Jeffries as a moonshot to save their asses in 2024. Really most likely in NY where several districts went GOP but it is unlikely they win reelection when associated with ineffective governance.
All this theater with government shutdowns only plays well in congressional districts gerrymandered to hell and back such that the population would overwhelmingly vote Satan-Hitler ticket as long as they have the right letter after their name.
Normal people don’t want to hear about their son in the armed forces might not get paid or their trip to Yellowstone is cancelled. They just want the government to operate without all this brinksmanship.
