Hal Rogers has had a total of 2 jobs since Apollo 11 landed on the moon—both in government.

Chick Grassley still runs something ridiculous like 10 miles a day.
He gets a pass.
He gets a pass.

I’ll need video of him “running” to believe that.
He looks clinically dead on TV/in Congress.

And sadly the greatest problem isn’t even just that they’re all fossils. It’s that they’re corrupt, evil fossils who’ve gotten too comfortable in their positions. Too long to get comfortable being in the club none of us are in.

Won't happen without a convention of the states.

There are millions of voters that keep putting them there.

Fixed it for you. With the opposition to SAVE act on both sides of isle, they're all probably cheating. I don't trust anything political on the left or right at this point.

Age isnt the problem, its the fact some of those folks have been there since the 80s
Posted on 3/20/26 at 3:07 pm to scrooster
i mean, how do they keep getting reelected? how is NO ONE running against a 90 year old? i feel like you could run a grass roots campaign and just advertise your age against half of these people.

yes it is, no one over 80 should be holding any office. They will never live to see the consequences of their decisions.

On the surface it sounds great, but what about the retarded voters? The politicians are just a symptom. The retards who vote them in are the disease.

This would not solve the problem, but it would be helpful if the Senate would change its rules so that Seniority was not so important. Committe positions, boards and appointments, even office locations are decided by Seniority.
If you have a choice in your primary between a multi-term incumbent and a newbie, it is probably better for your state to stick with the incumbent.
Changing the seniority rules would not require amending the Constitution...but it would require convincing people who benefit from the seniority rules to vote against their own perks.

And those old fogies are the biggest trouble makers too, all useless. Primary every one of them, in fact, primary anyone who has served two terms or more.

7. Chuck Grassley - 92
8. Hal Rogers - 88
9. James Risch - 82
10. Steny Hoyer - 86
My biggest issue is that they are passing legislation that they know they won't be around to see. So basically they saddle future Americans with dealing with thier bullshite ideas and decisions.

They have no reason to act in the best interest of their constituents
