Can't they just buy them in a neighboring state?
Are these the same folks that complain that having to go to a neighboring state for abortions will hurt the poor people? Won't this impact, you know... MORE poor people??

In the 1984 period, Japan had some interesting rules for yearly tax on automobiles. The tax rate after 2 years would double every year. After 7-8 years it was cheaper to buy a new one rather than a good used. I bought a 7 year old Nissan for the year I was there and had to prove I had a legal parking place, and the annual tax was 95 % of purchase, and would go up to 130 % to who ever I sold it to. Needles to say selling was a problem, BUT, if I just abandoned it, I would be barred from re-entering Japan. So I had to bring money to the sale of something I completely owned

If the people won't willingly drive electric, by the power forcibly taken from the people by government, the government will force them.

Plus the fact I read a separate report people don’t talk about but because battery powered vehicles are heavier they go through tires quicker.
Tires burning quicker=
more emissions from said tire.
It’s all a bunch of BS, but don’t tell that to an idiot. Won’t matter.

If they can ban dealerships from selling gas-powered cars, can’t we expect they’ll ban gas stations next?
The legislature likely thinks that the moment it passes, everyone will simply sell their ICE vehicles and buy electric ones.
Banning gas stations will likely be the next step, unless this move fails in such a spectacular fashion that they repeal the law.

At least eight states are planning to ban the sale of new gas-powered cars in the next decade - and others are considering joining them.
Twenty years from now the streets of those states will look like Cuba. They are still driving 60's model vehicle.

I’m cool with it.
