$6.8 billion in students loans dismissed

Joe Biden has only two plays to keep a red wave from sweeping over Congress and the states this November:
- Get people upset about Roe v. Wade.
- Forgive a bunch of student loans.
The media is making sure to promote both things this week.
The Education Department has canceled around $6.8 billion in student debt for more than 110,000 borrowers through the public service loan forgiveness waiver.
The new figures from the U.S. Department of Education show how many borrowers are benefiting from the policy fixes announced by the Biden administration last year. Hundreds of thousands more could still see their debt discharged as part of the effort. The average amount of debt reduction per borrower is close to $60,000, according to the Education Department.
Whoo hoo! The debt has been cancelled!
Or, you know, just shuffled onto every American, but what's a few billion when you're $30 trillion in debt??
But wait, 110,000 people... that's only a fraction of what Joe promised!
To begin, you want to act quickly, said Mark Kantrowitz, a higher education expert.
That's because the Biden administration's new rules for public service loan forgiveness are slated to expire on Oct. 31.

And what about future borrowers? Are we fixing the root cause of the problem?

This is totally fine. It is a forgiveness program that's been available for 20+ years that the feds (shockingly) completely botched the administration of. This is just them fixing their frick up. It's not how the msm will present it, but still, this is just them holding up their side of that bargain.
Any true "forgiveness" for other borrowers would come at the expense of the federal govt and that shite ain't happening.

Unlike fricktard liberals doing what's right constitutionally is more important than what's best for political gain.

I understand forgiveness from those for profit schools that no longer exist but I want mine gone

I actually chose to work in a low income area strictly for "forgiveness" and when I filed to receive my teacher loan forgiveness I was denied due to making too much money. That's when I knew it was time to change jobs

I think this current program was started in 2007, unless there was an earlier iteration.
I think the “un-botching” began a decade ago, which happens to be the number of years to make the qualified payments (120 of them) necessary to have your debt forgiven.
Does this just so happen to be the first 110k people that are eligible to have their loan forgiven?

I've paid every month, however, if they are going to forgive them fricking forgive mine. I could do a lot with that money each month. Unless you would tell them no, that you would like to continue to pay

They are not forgiven they are being forced on people like me that put themselves through school. Frick you and frick the rest of them. This is why we are 30 trillion in debt, because of dumbass people like you. You signed your name on the loan not me or anyone else.

And for only public service employees? What are the rules on who gets foregiveness?
Discrimination AGAIN! I can see it coming.
