“He was in the kitchen when he heard people in the garage coming up the stairs to the kitchen. When they got to the top of the stairs he told them to stop, but one started coming toward him. He fired three or four shots and struck both.” That’s how the scenario played out as 64 year old Ronald Stolarczyk did what he had to do when two burglars had broken into his home. This being in New York, police quickly arrested Stolarczyk and charged him not for any form of homicide, but for illegal possession of a firearm, because the gun he used to defend himself and his home had been inherited from his father and not registered.

Any cop or prosecutor who arrests, charges, prosecutes this man defending his home and property deserves the same as the burglars because they are stealing from him too.

If he is a member of the NRA he has no worries.

Or the GOA.

Or the USCCA.

Any and all three of the would defend him all the way to the Supreme Court..

Leftists care more about the perpetrators than the victims and these laws demonstrate that.

A female accomplice drove the pair to the house,he said. She has been fully cooperating with authorities and has not been charged at this time.

This is insane.

So how about in Louisiana? If we were given a gun by a family member we have to register it?

First off, the driver is legally as responsible as the two who went inside. I'm assuming she had agreed to a deal already to testify the other two. But an uncommon thing as far as I know.

The second thing is, if he had to register the firearm according to the laws of that state, and he broke the laws of that state, do you want them not to mention it?

I'm not sure here. As far as should he get anything more than the mildest of slaps on the wrist? Obviously that is all he should get. But the state had to make a show of at least in name supporting the laws of the state.

Now I don't feel he should have to register that firearm. I think that is against the second amendment. If they wish to fight the law I suppose they can do it. It whatever state things is, declined to prosecute because they are getting rid of the law that is also fine as well.

But a law in the book, they kinda have to make at least the slightest attempt to enforce. Otherwise you end up in Obama world.

Its like you don’t understand what I’m saying. The gun registration laws do nothing but make criminals of otherwise law abiding citizens.

We don't have registration for title 1 firearms in Louisiana. The closest would be filling out the form 4473 at time of purchase.

Burglars break into house and come after the homeowner? Homeowner defends himself and goes to jail.

Sounds like we are already in Obama world/

He probably had that gun gathering dust for decades. Maybe never even fired it but once or twice because of where he lived. I bet those cops felt like shite having to arrest him for that.
