quote:Sad - the Dems have been successful in making R's walk on eggshells and have created doubt in the minds of Republican voters regarding Trump. Republicans are in effect coddling each other. They have lost their way in terms of sticking to their principles. The thought of not winning the election makes them depart from their personal convictions, when in fact the vast majority adore Trump.
56% of Republicans DON'T want trump to run in 2024...

Like I said. Show me this poll with regard to ANY democrat, then ask yourself why you don’t see it.
So many don’t understand how much they are just useful pawns.

56% of Republicans have given up on voting

That should also tell you something... A GOP pollster and trump only gets 51% ... think about what is going on ... it should be 60+%.
All this tells us over here is how far we've sunk as a populace.
Going into the 2020 election that we even had "close" states, when one of the choices was a hopelessly compromised, corrupt mental defective with a proud socialist opportunistic political courtesan as a running mate.
Wonder what insidious forces have been at work over enough time to have produced just enough of a shallow, parochial, indifferent population willing to even risk putting something like this into play.
Who are either sufficiently detached or unable to see beyond the ends of their noses the consequences of what such a vote could result in for the nation.
Had one of them tell me prior to the election, "Well, we've got to do something to get Trump out of there."
What stark intellectualism and rationale are contained in that one statement.
Much in that one statement casts doubt on the future of the Republic.

Correct, and he’s a big enough dumbass to happily slop around in the mud with him.
He would get destroyed by any candidate the Dems ran out there just by sheer numbers. He’s an absolute non starter. Already influencing his cult to not vote in the midterms, won’t shut up about a stolen election. He’s effecting turnout and could lose the election for the Rs even if he doesn’t run. He’s responsible for this disaster even if only indirectly.
I don’t give a shite about owning libs. I care about getting a true constitutional conservative in office to MAYBE save what little is left of this country. We might not survive the Biden regime, we certainly won’t survive 4 years of whoever is next. The Dems are ready for a full scale prog assault. The groundwork has been laid

It’s funny you think this will happen only to Trump.
It won’t matter who the GOP candidate is the left will use the same playbook.

This shite was entertaining for a few years. Doesn't interest me in the fricking least now
The consolidated power of our opposition is far too mammoth to play these games any longer. Ive watched these people construct too many fantasy narratives out of thin air and repeat them until millions and millions of voters treat as hard reality
Corporate America is openly shoving soft CRT policy down peoples throats, social media is 100% in the bag for democrats, mainstream news networks have incited mass violence across the country, millions of illegals are pouring into the country with the promise of immediate free Healthcare, you could go on and on and on..
This shite isn't backyard football. It's an attempt to violently force the country so far in a radical insane direction that the "center" is further left than we could even conceive of a decade or so ago
I love Trump but we need an agile minded statesman and masterful communicator going forward. His traveling circus roving around rural America calling all the major metro areas disgusting shitholes is not going to get it done next time. I hope some of you realize that eventually

It's not the Republican voters that are the problem.
It's the independents.
1) This poll and post was about the GOP.
2) It's not the Independents it's the illegal votes.

i mean Im an R and right of 99.99% of this board and I dont want him to run. Tired of all these old fricks trying to run the country. Its a principle thing for me, nobody over 65.
but if it comes down to him and a D or even a soft arse R.....im pulling the lever.
Would prefer Paul, Desantis, or Cruz for sure though.

A fraud? Lol, please explain.
When have I ever said I was a supporter of Trump? Never would be the answer.

It’s not that it will only happen to Trump, hell they’ve already started with DeSantis, it’s that DeSantis won’t be nearly as easy as a target and he’s not unhinged mentally and will be able to rise above it.

Sometimes the R’s are idiots. Just like making Abortion a platform issue when they should be non-commital so not too push the stupid soccer moms over to the Libs. Put DeSantis on the ticket and it is an easy win.

I agree he is more polished but you may be a little naïve to think it won't do some of the same damage the four Trump years.
They haven't even begun to fully go after DeSantis and put him on full blast with the politicians pounding away, the media, etc.
I am a huge fan of DeSantis, but what many here fail to recognize that some of their negative feelings towards Trump came because of the campaign launched against him. That's a fact
