It’s already been reported that Trump is complicit with and colluded with hurricanes. His weather machine is a threat to our democracy.

Oh right, i forgot, we re supposed to take as gospel the claims of a back woods mayor and territory government that has helped run that island into a 3rd world like cesspool long before Maria.

Got it.

1) that number is highly inflated.

2) The local preparedness and response matters much more than federal response.

Those in the most direct control of the building and maintenance of the infrastructure are the local govts.

Louisiana failed before during and after katrina. Puerto Rico failed during Maria. Feds tried to staunch the failure in both. That didn't happen

If 3000 Americans died there would be a list with the names. This is a fake list. A contractor passed away from a car accident this past July that is supposedly on this list. This is why they won't release it, because it has deaths of individuals that were in no way impacted by the hurricane. Stop spreading fake information and go visit Puerto Rico for yourself and see all the amazing work that has taken place there. It is better now than it has been in years.

Puerto Rico has 3.337 million residents. The average number of deaths per 1000 population is 8.8. So, by that standard, PR should have experienced 29,365 deaths in the year following the hurricane.

The question is: how many ACTUALLY died during that year? Nobody knows. They are only estimating based on interviews of 3000 people (8/10,000 of the population), not actual, you know... 'facts', like death certificates.

Has anyone calculated the number of Americans that died on the mainland because of the storm? All you have to do is compare the number of deaths for 6 months after the storm with the number of deaths for the same 6 months from the previous year.

If heart attack deaths are up, storm related.
If stroke deaths are down, not storm related.
Etc. Etc.

3000?
That's a nice round number.

Care to lay out specifics as to how and when they died?

Best not to bury them all on one side. Island might tip over.
