If you're too squimish to look at it, I understand. Basically this guy had about 30% of the top part of his arm blown off opposite his elbow.

1.) How did the doctors fix it? What did they use? I saw a pic of his arm today but it's like they put black putty on it. Does that turn to something similar to skin and muscle eventually?

2.) How did he keep holding on to his gun that long afterwards? Was his arm temporarily paralyzed and he couldn't open his hand? Did he still have enough strength in his arm to hold his gun?

3.) What was the thing that looked like a gun laying in the street a few feet away from him when he was shot? Where did it come from?

They stabilized him until he can get a skin graft. That black putty is blood under a clear bandage. The tendons in his arm were still in tact so he was able to old on to his gun.

1. I am sure he had a skin graft of some kind. He will need more surgeries and lots of physical therapy. He is lucky to have an arm.
2. I think most of the damage is to only the bicep. Fingers use forearm muscles.
3. Might be a cell phone

he was a felon with a loaded weapon. he after his surgery announced his displeasure of not shooting the life out of the patriot who spared his life with just a debilitating shot.

the communist scum should be killed. we have a right in this country to state mandated helicopter rides.

Yea. He pulled out a cell phone and pointed like a gun at a person with an AR?

Some fight tooth & nail.
Others fight bicep on ground.

Complex surgery -
Multiple clean outs, a device called a wound vac that suctions the wound. Biceps out doesn’t affect grip and even if some of those proximal forearm muscles are injured there are deeper ones that start farther down that give grip function.

Depending on wound size, and what’s actually exposed in the wound, skin graft versus a muscle flap followed by skin graft.

What was lost and what is irreparable would dictate the extent of what other surgeries would need for optimal function.

Saw a fair amount of these training in NOLA.

He was only partially disarmed.

At one time he did have a cell phone in his left hand and the gun in his right.

Agreed.

This was the question though...

The black that you see is a wound vac. All they did was stabilize. Unlikely that you can reconstruct that. Just giving it time to see what kind of function he has left. May still end up with an amputation but likely will get a skin graft and just be left with a less than functional arm. Better learn to wipe his arse left handed.
