Do we charge their government for the rescue fees?

What rescue? Were they found? Last I read was they found a debris field.

No. Charge the dumb arse company that made the sub.

No.
The discovered debris shows the vessel appears to have broken apart instantaneously.
No survivors.
Re: the (previous) search and (now) recovery efforts ….
In addition to the USCG, France sent the sole submersible (vessel Atalante equipped with a deep-sea robot) that’s been part of the search.
Canada has contributed efforts as well (e.g., research vessel Polar Prince and 106 Rescue Wing).

Send the company a bill of some sort for sure. Half price at least.

Hell - I should know this by the work I once did. For every 33 ft of sea water you increase by one atmosphere. So at 2000 ft, you would suddenly be exposed to 60 ATA.

I'll take "Things that don't exist anymore" for $500, Alex.

They lost communications at around 3,300m.
Experts say the catastrophic failure/implosion would have been immediate—
in milliseconds—the men wouldn't have known what was happening.
It likely occurred four days ago.

At what point does compressibility become significant?
Posted on 6/22/23 at 4:55 pm to redbaron
quote:Not really sure but I suspect it varies from person to person. The body is 60% water which can't be compressed. The amount of air, soft tissue and eventually bone can be compressed at varying depths. The diamond divers are usually thin, young and build up holding their breath. Then you get into pressurized diving suits.
At what point does compressibility become significant?
Then you get into to the bends, caisson disease, whatever you want to call it. It has more to do with time and pressure (Navy Diving Tables is a good source for that).

For the boat? Right about the depth it imploded. I doubt they'll ever figure that out with any accuracy unless it had some monitoring hardware that WASN'T bought at Wal-Mart, and that's doubtful.
