New estimates show over 280K Southern Americans died as a result of the Civil War. Yet this country is now trying to eliminate any acknowledgement of their deaths. I compare those numbers to some of the other monuments we have to acknowledge those who died at other events in our history:

World Trade Center: 3000 deaths

Pearl Harbor: 2400 deaths

Little Big Horn: 286

Today this memorial removal is being celebrated by many in the Press.

The beginning of the end for a Nation is when history is buried or rewritten.

You can’t change what this nation has become, and you only have so much time.

Enjoy your life as best you can and don’t let this stuff stress you (even though that is hard).

And yet, liberals will tell you a mostly peaceful protest inside the Capitol dwarfed all of these events...

Robert E Lee was one of the finest men this country has ever known. It’s a shame the way we’ve allowed the left to smear his great name

And we weren't Americans either in the Revolutionary War. We were enemies of Great Britain. How'd that turn out? Until Obama came along a bust of Churchill was a welcomed sight at our nation's capitol. No ill will towards him and the Brits even though they lost the war so why the hatred for the South in their losing effort?

I guess you feel the same about the Indians at Little Big Horn?

How can you say that REL was the enemy of America? Was in a general in the American military ? Did Lincoln not ask him to fight for the north ? And while on Lincoln , wasn’t it him who suspended the constitution illegally I might add ? Under what laws did the north have to take the states rights in commerce away from the south prior to the very first shot ? I imagine right about now you are wondering wtf am I talking about regarding states rights as most people think that war was over slavery . See the southern cotton and tobacco industry was profitable and the north couldn’t grow either . The southern ports also had year round access that could be way more profitable at the time . The love of slavery was strong in the north but it was limited in need as crops due to weather conditions . The northern tyrants pushed for this war and literally made it happen. These are the things not learned when the winners rewrite history to favor themselves .

Don't worry they'll come for the other ones too.

WTC- If we didn't bully the Middle East this wouldn't have happened. They were just trying to be heard.

Pearl- Americans cut off trade with the Japanese who was just trying to remove the colonizers from their part of the world. Extra points because the vast majority of these deaths were straight white Christian men.

LBH- How many defenseless natives did these soldiers torture and kill before they finally got what they deserved? Once again extra points for these deaths being straight white Christian men.

It is that easy to guess what these dumb fricks will say.

If you rightfully consider America as a set of principles and ideals rather than just a group of people with a mostly shared heritage in a set geographic location like most countries, then northerners were the true enemies of America. This is what made the USA special.

We are no longer a collection of sovereign states due to the tyrannical impulses of Lincoln and the yankees. You can try to claim Southerners were enemies of America, but they weren't the ones fighting to subjugate their own citizens.

That is one of the biggest long term threats we are facing. History, no matter how ugly, needs to be taught. Whether it makes you uncomfortable or not. Wiping events off of the face of the earth is a colossal disservice to generations yet to come and a disrespect to those that lived through the events. I weep for our future and for what could be learned from our past but is being buried instead.

Bull shite. And even if you consider them not, I respect those that had the courage to fight with conviction regardless of sides. So much courage from every warrior, no wonder you do not understand, you gutless coward hammering they keys on an anonymous keyboard.
