I've voted once for who I liked, and he turned out to be the worst thing to happen to this country. 4 years later, I couldn't get to the polls fast enough to vote for the other guy, which I never liked and would've done a slightly less horrible job then black Jesus.

Same! I was such a huge liberal count in college . Voted so enthusiastically for Kerry then Obama but after a year or so of Obama, the lightbulb starting illuminating for me. I changed my affiliation to no party in 2010 and have voted 100% republican ever since then. I don't plan on looking back, either.

Why would you assume a personal anecdote involving 20 ish people (probably mostly local) would apply to 1/3 of a billion people across the country?

Why would I assume any poll to be honest when I have not EVER been polled for my political stance!! But I have had sex with a lot of pollsters and they love giving you what your want.

If you can’t tell the difference between the polls and some random dude on a far right message board called tigerpoop.com straw polling his buddies….i don’t know what to tell you.

I get polls are flawed/sometimes wrong, the science of sampling is exceedingly difficult by its very nature, but yikes dude.

I know at least a dozen people who supported 2020 Biden, who publicly say they will not vote Democrat.

I know of zero who were pro trump and are now Harris supporters.

One baw hates Trump now, but concedes he'll vote for him.

I assume it's this way everywhere.

How TF can Harris be close?

I understand there are people who will switch sides, but I don't understand how it could be in numbers that make a difference.
The two sides are polar opposite. There is no overlap in beliefs or policy. If a person was going to vote for Biden, they will vote for Harris.

I think very few voters from either dem or rep are flipping. And whoever is, it’s in such low numbers it’s inconsequential.

People love these stories because it gives them hope and makes them feel good, which is why they seem to remember the very few times it happens and tune out the rest of the evidence to the contrary.

This election is about turnout for both parties, not changing anyone’s mind. We’re all way way way too polarized

EXACTLY. I've said this many times. There is no overlap in policies, ideas, or beliefs. Zero.

I see you got a down vote. What non thinking, brain dead, fricktard would down vote a reasonable and logical statement?????

Wait...... Never mind...... There's several here.

The race is close but Harris has quite a bit of Obama 2008 mojo working with the 18-30 set. Who are always woefully under represented in polls. Pollsters try to fix that with ‘weighting’ the respondent pool which causes other issues with the data.

I suspect a true age-representative poll of likely voters would have her out front in every swing state.

The swifties are mobilizing virtual ‘registration parties’ for tens of thousands of new voters on top of that. Will all this translate in November? Who knows but Trump over performing polls may not be the case this time.

1) that’s a lot of jibberish and I don’t really know what to do with any of it.

2) do you really answer your phone every time it rings? All that spam etc.? You must have tons of free time on your hands.

Trump is better than his supporters.

Read around this forum of people constantly calling each other retards for pointing out true things gives one pause.

People have to reconcile voting for Trump while putting people into government who support Trump when these people clearly don’t belong running a 7/11.

That is the actual story of the 2024 election.
