just 7 precincts remaining and it's a 40,000 vote lead for Edwards

All right. The next four years are about fighting Edwards at every turn and recruiting a good candidate to win back the governor's chair in 2023. Let's focus and get to work!

Ardoin won Sec of State by 266k.

Abraham supporters voted JBE, that says it all about them.
You have a complete inability to come to terms that not everyone shares the same views that you do and are not clearly as resolute in their political views, especially at the local and state levels where people can get more flexible and that is something the 2015 election taught me.
The goddamn political twin of Edwin Edwards just won reelection in a race he should've lost in a blowout to comfortable margins and your arrogance in the face of that is just breathtaking.

just FYI... everyone complaining about CenLA...
Rispone won Rapides Parish 57%-43%
24,611 votes out of 43,446
ETA: unofficial turnout in Rapides Parish is 51.9% for gubernatorial race

State is ran by injury attorneys and y’all gotta send your kids to private schools for decent education and no new companies want to move to Louisiana because of the litigious environment. But at least LSU is good at football and y’all got crawfish boils.

Louisiana is fricked. Glad I’m moving out.

You need to realize how hard it is to beat an incumbent. JBE is just likable enough to squeak out re-election. He was brought down to even from a 13 point win in 2015.
Main reason why the freaking out about Trump for 2020 is dumb. It’s simply hard to beat an incumbent. The power of the incumbency.

Ardoin got 133k more votes than Rispone statewide.
His opponent got 173k fewer votes than Edward's atatewide.
Once again, GOP voters in Louisiana willingly shot their own fricking dicks off.

damn... the Village of Forest Hill (Rapides Parish) shot down 5 different propositions to allow some kind of sale of alcohol in the village
ETA: the closest was 66%-34% no... and that would've only allowed sale of 6% or less alcohol by volume drinks where you couldn't consume it on premises of purchase

Just more proof that Trump rallies are toxic for Republicans. Virginia, Kentucky, now Louisiana...elections.

Lol frick off. JBE went from a 13 point win in 2015 to even in 2019. Trump played a big part in dragging this to even. Just like in Kentucky.

And even then, this was a very winnable race for Eddie.
But he didn't run a very good campaign and was very hands off in the runoff and let carpetbaggers with zero clue about Louisiana politics run the show like they have all year long.
The biggest sign of trouble was that Ralph was not stumping for Eddie, appearing in any ads, or appearing on stage together with Trump.
Eddie may be a political rookie but in a race this big, that's no excuse and sorry doesn't cut it.

And even then, it all comes down to the candidate himself to bring home that last 2-3 points and Rispone just didn't deliver and he only has himself to blame for that.
Calling Abraham a Never Trumper that votes with Pelosi and gets rich off a Congressman's salary? That was a stupid and dumb mistake from the start and it just took a little over a month to bite him in the arse.
