As I suspected, he was a juvenile.
quote:
Shei was 15 and 16 years old at the time of the sexual assaults and he was initially charged in juvenile court in 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, his case was pushed back to the point that prosecutors would soon lose jurisdictional authority to prosecute the case.
Charges were dismissed against Shei in those cases but were soon refiled. Shei was then given a plea deal that included his stay of adjudication and no prison time in exchange for him not challenging certification in adult court, which allowed for his continued prosecution, according to Olmsted County Senior Attorney Thomas Gort.

Apparently the plea deal didn't even involve jail time
quote:
Shei entered an Alford plea in December 2022, meaning that while he does not admit guilt, he admits that a jury would convict him based on the evidence.
Shei's lawyer, James McGeeney, argued that the court lacked the authority to impose any jail time, as that was not "the spirit" of the plea agreement and any jail sentence would be in violation of the agreement.
The combination of an Alford plea + that deal makes me think the evidence was weak. However, it appears the Covid court shutdowns may have made issues with the time necessary to prosecute the case and it could have affected their ability to proceed. It could have been that.

According to you, we have to become a totalitarian state in order to reduce crime. I guess putting this monster in prison for a long time is just too totalitarian.

She shouldn’t be facing any sentence

That is an extreme example of taking something out of specific context.
Note for people reading this thread: the specific context of the thread where that was discussed was one specifically promoting the expansion of government and policing into all of our lives. I commented that more totalitarian states will have lower crime.
None of this has ANYTHING to do with this thread or my comment, but the above poster is extremely dishonest in his rhetoric.

In addition to your dishonest, understanding relevance is a recurring problem for you.

I usually don't agree with SlowTard but there's zero chance of that woman being found guilty of anything. That's all for moonbat show.

Wtf, Minnesota??
Also... did the woman *actually* call a child a nagger or did she say nagger on video after being prodded? Either way, I don't care, but never knew if she actually called the applesauce thief the bad word
This entire spectacle over a damn word is stupid. It's a word!! I've been called derogatory names, so what? People need to grow up.
Furthermore, why should blacks continue to receive special treatment?
Why should they be protected from a word?
Look at us on this discussion board, we're all to scared to type out that word, but it's fine to say dago, cracker, coon arse, etc.....

No it is not. You rant here daily that in order to lower crime, we must become more totalitarian. You completely ignore that fact that leftist run municipalities have nearly abandoned the enforcement of the law. Such basic enforcement of the law does not require that we become totalitarian.
On the flip side of that, you either ignore or defend the political left when they use lawfare and other methods to target political opponents and ideology they disagree with.

Good News!
She has plenty of (go)funds for an attorney.
Still think it is crazy cakes that people donated to her for saying the N-word.
People can justify it however they want, but that is what they did.
That said, being put in jail for saying the n-word is a far worse transgression
