Companies do not want to be the next hashtag that reads #xcompanyisracist or #xcompanyemployswhiteracist
That is the ONLY reason IMO why companies are bending the knee. They don't believe bad press is good press.

Man that was quick. And I fet Your points it is a bit of one, but at the same time it’s rooted very much in reality.
it’s been demonstrated again and again that the actual right to freedom or speech protect Nazi and the KKK rhetoric.
We see that the absurd consequences are there as the actual right is applied. The first amendment protect your right to voice horrible opinions from prosecution from the government.
I personally don’t have any issue with the free market deciding what is acceptable in society.

White lives matter is very controversial. It’s ok to be white.
It’s sad that it is but that’s just the atmosphere we live in nowadays, it’s best to just keep your mouth shut and stay off social media. It’s stupid but that’s just how it is.

So it’s not about being controversial. It’s just complying with thought police.

Well, a real leader would talk to the said employee and explain how it might be offensive to other employees that have to work together and strongly advise he not wear his Nazi outfit again. Then have them give them a write-up and have management and Nazi uniform sign it.

White people are the only ones I see being punished. I haven't seen any other racial groups cancelled. AA's and any other race who've expressed conservative opinions have just been called the typical names they are called by their own and the left.

That feels a bit soft.

I mean what if we’re talking about a small
Business, should a Jewish shopkeeper HAVE to keep this kid around? I mean have a right to tell someone to frick off.
And again we’re talking about society applying the freedom of speech in the private sector. So what if the guy keeps saying “oh yeah hitler was right?”
Clearly this isn’t ok. No one would expect the shopkeeper to keep him around.
The beauty of the 1st Amendment is that it is almost absolute. There are of course exceptions, but you’re free to walk down the street in a Klans robe without government prosecution. And that good because I thinj Most of us agree that while there are gray areas, we don’t want the government deciding what they are.
I personally think the free market can deal with a lot of these issues. You should be able to deny serves, and I am 100% in favor of gay marriage. I think the “mob” raising awareness of your policies and calling for a boycott is the correct approach.
You can have strong opinions, but you better bake a really fricking good cake if you’re going to deny service.

If not, then frick his company.

Your friend will be fine once he cashes his wrongful termination lawsuit check.

It’s not the free market deciding. It’s corporate HR deciding.
The labor market will eventually catch up to this as good employees leave or are terminated. I am free to point out the stupidity of it all in the short term.
You might feel differently if it was your ox being gored. But no one has mistaken you for someone with deep, abiding principles that order your life.

Even if so, frick his company. The fact that the phrase “white lives matter” has been stigmatized does not make the phrase untrue.

Corporations making business decisions are part of that.
Sorry you don’t like the free market.

Valuable people can get away with more. That’s the facts of life. Something tells me neither of these guys are the lynchpin of their operation.

You’re consistently disagreeing with me. So it seems like I have principles, you just don’t agree with them. I would never accuse you of lacking principles, but good morals and intelligence.

Those weren’t business decisions. You can continue pretending they were.

Awesome. That has nothing to do with what I was saying. If a non-controversial phrase became verboten and it bothered you, you would feel differently. You don’t have to admit it. We both know it’s true. Maybe like “Jews should be allowed to live.” If that phrase could get you fired, you would have a very different reaction to it. That should inform your brain of something. But your circuitry is off.

I’m actually just illuminating the lack of critical thinking that informs your positions.

How can this happen when we have freedom of speech??
Its not really a freedom of speech issue, it could or can be a discriminatory issue though. I would recommend seeking legal advise with someone that focuses on discrimination and equal opportunity issues.

I'm not saying the firing is justified, just easy to anticipate.

I agree. So don't put your company in a bind by saying something that you know will be considered offensive.
What an ignorant thing to do.

right. keep it set to private and follow strict guidelines. have your conversations in person or via phone call or maybe even text if you can trust them.
not social media. not even email. text strings can be deleted if other person complies. ATT supposedly trashes deleted texts after 72 hours.
but to play it safe go old mafia way
in person only or use a dope dealer flip phone to talk. no traceability.
