was the guy in a police uniform? while I'm just randomly eating this burger, do I know I have tags on my car that are not supposed to be?

The video doesn’t look great for anyone.

The driver could clearly see it’s a police officer (assuming he’s in uniform). He processes it and decides the best action is to drive off.

The police officer shoots a guy who is not putting him in any imminent danger.

Yes, it means exactly that. Cop had NO right unless he suspected a guy eating a burger broke the law, period

a cop doesnt have the right to approach or speak to someone? you believe a cop is breaking the law every time he walks up to someone to ask questions about a situation? that's pretty dumb.

He did NOT break a law. He is under ZERO laws forcing him to respond to a cop who isn't detaining him.

Try driving away from a cop and see what happens.

It absolutely matters to the press and public narrative. It’s wild that anyone would pretend otherwise.

yeah i mean i guess i agree with that, but that's more an indictment on the stupidity of people watching the news. they should be equally outraged regardless of the backstory.

You might be surprised. If you're not being detained under reasonable suspicion (as opposed to a fishing expedition or cop wanting to play bully), the cop has no authority to pursue you.

Spends 8 pages defending a piece of shite who’s actions were completely out of line with training and policies and unjustified according to his own department, thinks other people are stupid.

The biggest problem with the internet is it gives fricking morons like you the ability to impose your stupidity on the rest of us.

You aren’t intelligent enough to have your sleeping patterns impacted in this manner.

It bothers me that the cop is parked like he's going in for a Big Mac, the vehicle not in any position consistent with action relative to this kid's car, and the cop car's lights are not flashing.

That is not connected to this case without further evidence. The police initially charged Cantu with assault and evading arrest. If they had evidence the car was stolen, they would almost have certainly included that charge with the other two.

You’re decompensating.

A cop is unable to recognize a car the next night that fled? All I'm saying is answer the question. Is this the same guy, yay or nay? Given the current political environment it is reasonable to assume they aren't pursuing the charges for political reasons. Alternatively, maybe they are holding those charges as leverage against the impending lawsuit. We don't know because no one is reporting on it and that in itself is suspicious.

Word salad nonsense is not an answer.

Why are you justifying this piece of shite based on nothing but hypotheticals when his own department, that already has all the answers to your hypotheticals, has said his actions were unjustified?

Your assumption is wrong and I already addressed it. Why aren't you concerned whether our sweet victim ran off because he was caught in the act?

Based on the lack of charges, one would surmise the answer is "no".

Article I read about the incident. Per that article the kid/car was not the one he’d chased previously.

Well, I guess antifa/BLM were innocent in 2020 and so is Hunter Biden. What's all the yelling and anger about on the PT board?

What article? The OP? That's not what it said. Unless you have another article, you misread.
