Yeah, that whole "defund the police" movement you cretins pushed is working out so well for us law abiding citizens

DO you think all people who believe this:

The police are not your friends. There's no such "thing" as the Thin Blue Line.

Also support defunding the police?

Because they do not.

Pizza delivery is more dangerous than being a cop

Bruh, I first heard the news on local talk radio (AM 550 KTSA), and the conservative hosts were panning it (before national media had got wind of it). I'm also a local, this is literally my stomping grounds, and I've given you the lay of the land. This isn't a cop getting it wrong being on high alert in the ghetto. This is a pretty low-key area of town, and cop fricked up big time. You want to remain skeptical, that's you holding onto folly at this point.

Sounds like you live in a place similar to me. I live in Gilbert, an upper-middle class suburb of Phoenix. Gilbert is one of the safest cities in America, and our neighboring cities are safe, too. Yet, in the last 5 or 6 years within a 10 mile radius of my home there have been 4 fatal police shootings for which the city has had to pay damages. I don't watch the local news, so there are probably other similar incidents where the person shot survived. It stands to reason that there's nothing special about my 10 mile radius or the area your office building is in, so these bad police shootings aren't nearly as rare as many think or we'd like.

Here's video of the most well-known incident of the four I mention above -

Cops play Simon says and shoot the loser

The cops that pulled this stunt, including the shooter, got off on everything. In fact, the shooter was rehired by Mesa PD so that he could turn around and qualify for a lifetime disability benefit - apparently killing a guy on his knees and begging to not be shot is pretty f'n hard to live with.

Also, this isn't a high crime area of town.

Agreed. It wouldn't be my first choice of places to live, either.

I think the dude you're replying to is a cop.

Probably not a "I have a passion for the work and want to protect and serve" type either, its more like a "I have a GED and a God-complex" type.

I'm a local with direct knowledge of the venue and SAPD, and demonstrated such physically in this very thread. Also, I'm not some ACAB/Defund the police weirdo. I tend to give LEOs the benefit of the doubt at first blush, but facts always rule the day for me, incident by indicent. This incident was fully the fault of the cop, as echoed by the SAPD itself. You're merely being contrarian here for the sake of it. That much is clear, amigo.

So do you care if I quote your stupidity or not? Because, as a stupid person, you’ve said both yes and no with just a few posts of each other.

What did the cop think? He was gonna hit him with his burger?

The issue was the kid reached back towards the passenger seat.

quote:

From the start that was horrible police work. That kid driving off after the cop assaulted him was a fight or flight response.

Agreed wholeheartedly. What was the cop doing walking up to a running car without back up?

quote:

That cop should be on death row if that kid dies. If the kid doesn't I hope he sees that cop go to jail forever for attempted murder, and sues the city, police department, and the cop.

Not sure I can argue with this. Not sure about death row but the cop is an idiot, the PD should not stand behind him and a lawsuit is correct.

That doesn't exactly explain him continuing to shoot at the car while it is driving off

approaches HAS THE SAME RIGHT TO IGNORE HIM! Do you understand rights? Freedoms?

If a law isn't broken, a person can tell an officer to GFY and there is nothing legally a cop can do. If a cop escalates the "situation " after that, then yes, he's committing a violation of rights.

Grabbing this kids car door was an illegal attempt to search a vehicle he had NO right to legally touch.

Again, what part of a person's rights don't you understand?
