Alright, now the Dems have turned their attention to section 3 of the 14th amendment to keep Trump from running again. Does anyone know the process for this and what their chances are of being successful?

Fourteenth Amendment

Section 3

No Person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

They don't care about Trump, they care about keeping all this in the news to appease their base.

I would think he would have to be convicted of those charges first.

Seems kinda tough to convict a fella of something he was just ruled not guilty of too. But DemProgFilth never let a little thing like law or the US Constitution stop them.

The irony of the Dems citing the Constitution, much more so of citing a primarily due process amendment after the unbroken litany of kangaroo proceedings they've initiated.

Agreed but this is their next course of action. They are saying it just takes 51 votes

Correct. Their only chance of the 14th amendment would have been to try it before impeachment. Now that Trump was acquitted, they can't say he was seditious.

51 votes to try but this clearly ends up in court and will arrive at SCOTUS.

And if Trump wins, he immediately comes off as the 2024 front runner under the “they tried to ban me from office!” argument showing what they most feared.

Is there where packing the courts come in? The Dems will not stop, they are blood thirsty.

It was a conviction by a court, not Congress. Congress can remove the prohibition, not impose it.
