I believe this depends on the kind of immigration we see.

I can concede this point, though I think America is far better at assimilating immigrants than pretty much every other country in the world.

Subsidies for childbirth can work

It's incredibly hard for fertility rates to go above replacement once they fall below replacement. The only counter example I can think of is communist Romania, which banned abortion and contraception in 1966, which saw an increase in TFR for a period of time, before it fell back to pre-1966 levels.

You're contradicting yourself and not realizing it.

Ok.

Oh, I see the mistake you're making. I'm not a conservative, and I am a racialist. So there really isn't a contradiction here.

Hungarian birth rates are rising. It's not hard.

- Stop killing babies.
- Promote Family
- Stop policies that punish the family unit.
- Promote middle class

It's not hard.

Absolutely shameful. When will these people stop selling Americans down the road for cheaper labor?

They've risen slightly from 1.35 to 1.45, even accounting for their subsidy program and supposed baby boom. Not close to hitting replacement rates, which is 2.1. In fact, there is a long way to go in order for Hungary to hit replacement rates. Their program is still in its infant stages though, so we will see in the 2020's if it can actually cause rates to go above 2.1.

I stated this and firmly believe it.

By that logic, Chinese and Indian immigrants with marketable skills should get preference or at the very least be high priority. The harsh truth is this: most of them have significantly higher value (when considering labor costs) than your average American.

I am Indian, have a PhD in ECE from LSU, I'm a professor in a public university ever since I graduated from LSU, hence I'm not a contract worker by any stretch of imagination.

Yet this bill will tremendously help me and people like me many of who
are doctors, professors, scientists etc. Will it help some Indians whom work in IT consulting firms... sure. but to say that it's only going to help people who are in IT jobs is a complete lie.

This article is a hack job which doesn't say anything about the real issues.

The per country quota is discriminatory. This is a step in the right direction.

Don't believe there article.
Maybe you should become a citizen and you wouldnt need s green card to work here.

That was from their first actions. That started in 2010. Since then divorce has fallen by a fifth, and marriage has increased by over 40 percent.

Even the number of abortions has fallen by a third, even without the Hungarian government introducing any policies to restrict access to them — instead, support for families and foster carers has been boosted, removing some incentives to kill unborn children.

This year they took other actions that stopped the bleeding of the middle class. Like a tax of 27% to buy a home. ETC. Tax burden lifted..

That will aide in the birthrate.

Even here, you always hear "Who can afford to have more than 1 kid".

Policies need to change.

If you want real equality. Do away with affirmative action - whites are almost a minority. When we (racist whitey) become a minority I’m not going to ask for a fricking law to give me the upper hand. Title IX & Affirmative Action should be abolished; however, it won’t. Take a look at South Africa. This is the United States future.

Green card is the first step to naturalization to citizenship. There is no way for me to become a citizen unless I get a green card first.

The 1.45 number is from 2016. I'm very skeptical that they can get to 2.1

Right. Those policies had been in effect for almost 6 years.

New policies have now been passed that promote home buying by reducing the extra tax that was 27%.. and the new no taxes if you have 4 kids.

Do I agree with their methods? Not 100%. They see their problem as a state of emergency. So they are going over the top to fix it. The method seems to shift the tax burden to single people.

It took six years for the TFR to move from 1.35 to 1.45. At that rate, it would mean that it would be upwards of 40 years before it reaches replacement, if at all. Again, no country has reached replacement rates after it has fallen below replacement.

Thanks. If we are going to disagree, I'm willing to do it honestly.
