I suspect some hyperbole here.
Still, it should be pretty spectacular.

quote:

@realDonaldTrump

The Fourth of July Airshow, over Washington, D.C., our Great Capital, will be the biggest, by far, in the History of the United States of America. Hundreds of Planes, of different types, sizes, and speeds, will be on display. It goes from 1:15 P.M. in the afternoon, until 11:30 in the evening. I will be speaking at approximately 9 P.M., preceding the Fireworks which again, like the Airshow, will be approximately ten times larger than any Fireworks in the History of our Country. So, if you like Airplanes and Fireworks and President Trump, be there!
President DONALD J. TRUMP

I personally can't wait for something to catch fire that evening.

1) the mouth breathers on the left will claim that this is all Trump's fault. No bid contract to some crony and something something about emoluments, climate change and grabbing a kitty.

2) the other mouth breathers will conclude that its a sabotage conspiracy and that fires were lit to make Trump look bad.

While 99% of consumer backyard fireworks sold in the U.S. are imported, the domestic manufacturing industry thrives in professional display fireworks. Iconic, multi-generational U.S. manufacturers—many located in the historical "Fireworks Capital of America" in New Castle, PA—handcraft spectacular aerial shells for public events, concerts, and presidential inaugurations.

10x is an understatement if the number of fireworks contracted is anything like what I am hearing.

I read somewhere that they contracted with a Pennsylvania company.

quote:

Dr. Kevin Griess, superintendent of the National Mall and Memorial Parks, said pallets of explosives will line both sides of the iconic water basin, with about 13 barges on the Potomac River and seven more at sites along the West Potomac.

The gargantuan display dwarfs the 7,000 fireworks launched last year for Independence Day, Griess said.

Waste of money. Imagine how much free healthcare for illegals that could buy?

I wish I could still purchase decent fireworks. The days of the M-80 and M-100 are long gone.

I think many of our ancestors would disagree. At least this one does, and he was pretty important.

"It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more." -John Adams, in a letter to his wife, about July 4th.

NOTE: I am well aware that the letter actually referenced July 2nd.

It's pretty easy nowadays to pick your team. Just look for the blue hair and big glasses... round them all up and shoot your shot.

This is all funny to me. It really pisses you off, doesn't it? Seeing a million people on the national mall celebrating America, rather than protesting and destroying things. While it does make me laugh, I honestly feel sorry for people like you.

And if it goes spectacularly well, there will be mouth breathers on both sides finding fault or whatever.

So why not wish for it to go well and troll on people then? Sound like a win win
