What is there to protect? The US dominates the film industry. We export WAY more than we import. If this tariff actually materializes and other counties respond in kind it could hurt the US more than other countries. Such a dumb own-goal if this happens.

Sounds like this will hurt indie movies the most. I remember Trump hated Parasite winning best picture because it wasn’t American made. I guarantee he has no clue how this will work when he tweeted lol. Will tickets cost more? Who knows.
