Article from NBC. This puts a bit of a hole in the narrative of how deadly it is. Right now, the mortality rate nationwide is 4.8% (using Chromedome’s numbers on the stickied thread)

If the CDC is correct, the actual death rate is .48%. Higher than seasonal flu, but one I can’t believe we went along with shutting down for.

People got suckered in because they didn’t think it had been around as long as it had.

The inflated numbers coming out of nursing homes didn’t help.

You need to add critical info to this stat...

As of the 3:20PM EST update on Thursday June 25, 2020, the mortality rate of those infected with covid-19 is 4.88%. However, the mortality rate of covid-19 is currently . 04% of the United States population.

Additionally, the current percentage of the Unites States population that has tested positive for covid-19 is .72%. Of the .72% of the Unites States population infected with covid-19 to date, a mere 4.88% have perished.

The range of 8 - 10 times as many cases as detected lines up with the latest research on IFR that puts it b/w 0.5 - 1%. That puts us at approximately 8% attack rate for the nation or about 8 out every 100 infected.

PSU Study on Initial infection rate

PSU says their study says it is 80 times higher and we may have had as many as 8.7 Million cases.

quote:

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Many epidemiologists believe that the initial COVID-19 infection rate was undercounted due to testing issues, asymptomatic and alternatively symptomatic individuals, and a failure to identify early cases.

Now, a new study from Penn State estimates that the number of early COVID-19 cases in the U.S. may have been more than 80 times greater and doubled nearly twice as fast as originally believed.

In a paper published today (June 22) in the journal Science Translational Medicine, researchers estimated the detection rate of symptomatic COVID-19 cases using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s influenza-like illnesses (ILI) surveillance data over a three week period in March 2020.

“We analyzed each state’s ILI cases to estimate the number that could not be attributed to influenza and were in excess of seasonal baseline levels,” said Justin Silverman, assistant professor in Penn State’s College of Information Sciences and Technology and Department of Medicine. “When you subtract these out, you’re left with what we're calling excess ILI – cases that can't be explained by either influenza or the typical seasonal variation of respiratory pathogens.”

The researchers found that the excess ILI showed a nearly perfect correlation with the spread of COVID-19 around the country.

Said Silverman, “This suggests that ILI data is capturing COVID cases, and there appears to be a much greater undiagnosed population than originally thought.”

Remarkably, the size of the observed surge of excess ILI corresponds to more than 8.7 million new cases during the last three weeks of March, compared to the roughly 100,000 cases that were officially reported during the same time period.

Most published peer reviewed studies put IFR between .3%-.7% in March/April. Projections moving forward are between .1%-.4%.

IMO the Covid-19 hoax and the shut-down was designed to....

1) Absolutely, positively, destroy the Trump economy.

2) Create unrest and put people out of work. The MSM media keeps hammering away that Trump was inept. His inaction resulted in deaths. Stuff like that.

3) No secret that most of Trump's campaign support ($$) comes from small donors, (Google Campaign Contributions for 2020 Presidential Race) you know working class folk, the elderly. People out of work? Less likely to contribute to his reelection.

4) Then the full blown Coup-de'tat in the form of this BLM, Antifa insurrection. So is it possible the bleeding hearts begin to believe Trump is to blame for all this violence. You know like it was peaceful when Pooky was in there.

5) The Democrat Propaganda Machine keeps hammering away that Trump is "evil, and a racist" his supporters are racist. You know the mantra....those evil white racist who cling to their Bibles and their guns.

6) Connect the dots people.

Then explain why virtually every other developed country in the world locked down?

Also, explain why Trump eventually did support this lockdown.
