Nothing you said was factual, it was obvious it was a toy gun and he didn’t have a chance to disobey them or shoot at them, the cops literally did a drive by shooting on him.
MRH, I must disagree with you, in part.

Airsoft guns look pretty damned real, especially from a distance. This is WHY the tips of their barrels are painted orange ... to distinguish them from the real thing. The paint HAD been removed from this particular toy.

As a 12yo kid, would I have scraped the paint off the barrel, to make it seem more real and thus more fun? Yeah, probably. For me OR for Tamir, it would have been stupid. But neither of us would have deserved to be shot for it.

The police couldn’t have seen it even if had an orange tip. The gun was still in his pants when they shot him.

Agreed. I was addressing only MRH's broader point that "it was obvious it was a toy gun."

If the cops arrived to find Tamir pointing his toy at passersby OR at the cops themselves, I would argue that they were justified in shooting ... precisely because the toy gun DOES look damned real.

He was fricking 12

And no one has thought to ask or link if said 12 year old modified the toy gun himself or even if it was his. Special place in Hell for those with that level of judgement.

It was obvious enough that a civilian calling the police thought that it was.

I agree with you to a degree but it was obvious enough to the 9-1-1 caller that it was a toy gun.

Stupid stuff I did before the age of 13:
*Shot BB gun at friend (wearing coat for protection), he shot me back.
*Threw firecrackers in culvert to get loud boom
*Did some illegal night hunting with my older brother
*Toilet papered teachers tree

No one died as a result of my actions and police were never called. I grew up & never have spent a minute in jail.

WE played "army" in the woods, firing bottle rockets at one another from 4-foot pieces of PVC pipe.

And your weren’t shot by cops, correct? We all did stupid, mostly harmless shite as kids before Karen’s & more bad cops were as common. Part of growing up.

Except he didn’t.

That's not what the transcript seems to suggest...

I automatically assume that someone who doesn't understand that the Tamir Rice story ended badly because the idiot kid was terrorizing people is a keyboard PUZZY who loves to cast judgements at people who put their lives on the line daily and are under no obligation to get their heads blown off because they don't stop and ask someone whether their very real looking gun is real or not....

Kids fault, parents fault, Cultures' fault.....

Pick better hills to die on, the Rice kid was terrorizing people.

This poster is either trolling or an absolute retard. I think I figured out which one it is however.
