So you believe 1 out of 6 people in the population died of heart disease? That would be more than 50 million people.

The social isolation, depression, etc. you mention is real, but it doesn't account for the nearly 400,000 additional deaths.

The line right before those "1 in X" comparisons:

"So, in 2020 about 1 in 100 people died. Of those who died:"

If the common cold killed 1 in every 50 people it infected, which institutions do you believe would survive and thrive? Certainly not schools or colleges - or ANY gathering of people anywhere ever.

At the very least, life as we know it would be drastically revised to the negative forever.
If you lost a dollar for every 50 you kept, would you go broke as a result of losing those dollars?

Hold up, for a fair comparison you have to change your other causes by the same time frame. I am positive 1 in 6 have not died from heart disease in the last year and a half.

Other death odds

Heart disease, 1 in 6
Cancer, 1 in 7
Stroke, 1 in 28
Motor vehicle accidents, 1 in 88
Intentional self-harm, 1 in 112
Accidental poisoning and exposure to noxious substances, 1 in 130
Falls, 1 in 171
Car crashes, 1 in 303
Assault by firearm, 1 in 306
Pedestrian, 1 in 649
Motorcycle rider, 1 in 770
Accidental drowning, 1 in 1,123
Just think how much the funeral business grew.

But really didn't.

Now deduct all those that really didn't die of Covid.

In 2020, the US recorded 3,358,814 deaths. The previous 3 years were 2,854,838 (2019), 2,839,205 (2018), and 2,813,503 (2017). The first thing to notice is a lot more people died in 2020 than the previous three years.

Yes, but that alone isn't noteworthy since the average number of people in the 65+ category also increases annually. The 65+ population in the U.S. grew by over a third (34.2% or 13,787,044) during the past decade, and by 3.2% (1,688,924) from 2018 to 2019.

So the "whole lot more people died" cause is pretty easy to identify ... there's a whole lot more people in the prime end of life age.

In other news, 7 out of every 500 Americans died without Covid.

That’s not good analysis either. The number of expected deaths is usually last year plus around 30-60k. Adding 400,000 to the totals isn’t “expected ecause a lot of people are old.”

So 98% lived?

The 1/500 is total deaths in USA from COVID.

It does not represent the amount of people in the US who died after contracting Covid.

I'd guess even that number is too high.
