If vacations include family reunions and out of town funerals, then everyone should be covered.

They don't even realize these stats say the complete opposite of what they are insisting. What's worse are most people are too dumb to realize it.

The Left, with immense help from the MSM, has successfully convinced a large percentage of the population of the most prosperous nation in history, that they are somehow oppressed.

It's unbelievable really.

I grew up dirt poor...and my parents grew up even poorer.

Poverty does suck and it's impossible to fix it on a national level. But... 39 million isn't that bad considering we've over 350 million people.

Even if you exclude those not in the workforce it’s only like 21% that can’t afford it

48% not taking one doesn’t mean can’t afford one. I don’t take summer vacations because my jobs busy season is in summer. I take 2 major vacations a year, one in spring and one in October’s

When we set US poverty-level at an income number higher than median-level income in several European countries, it leaves one to question the stat, or place the word "poverty" in quotes

Our “poor” are mostly fat and drive a car less than 5 years old

The only truly poor in this nation are drug addicts or have a mental disorder with nobody to care for them.

Vacations are about as frivolous of expenditures of money that there are. It's the first thing that gets cut when I need to balance the budget. It's like saying poor people can't afford to eat lobster and steak.

This. Me and my gf went to orange beach for 3 days to enjoy the beach, good food and do some fishing. Cost me 2,200 dollars and nothing to show for it. It was fun, but if you don’t have money to blow it’s definitely something to cut from the budget

I’m going on two vacations. I must be super rich.

Be careful or we'll create a new government agency to take one of your vacations and give it to someone who can't afford one since they didn't save for it.

yea, I'm not poor, but I've gone entire years without vacations, many times. Vacations are about as frivolous of expenditures of money that there are. It's the first thing that gets cut when I need to balance the budget. It's like saying poor people can't afford to eat lobster and steak.

Before my gf, I went on like 2 vacations in 10 years

Both involved staying at a friend's house. Primary cost was a sub-$500 plane ticket

The plan was to take real vacations when my student loans were paid off and I had money

I understand that you maybe don't feel the trip was worth it, but you can do some unforgettable trips for that kind of money. I wouldn't sell vacations short simply because you overspent on a seemingly forgettable trip to Orange Beach.
