I think "criminally inept" is a good way to describe Martin.

Do you think anybody would notice if we traded the Lions for the Saints?

I'm glad the Michigan people are delusional as everyone else on who their coach should be.

This is just getting crazy. Michigan has already pissed off "most" tiger fans with this, now they decided to piss off the rest of the Gulf Coast.

I heard Pat Summerall on the radio a couple days ago, He said Parcells wants back in coaching...again. Maybe they have a shot at him too.

I really believe Michigan never had a chance at getting Les Miles. The only reason Les Miles agent tried to contact Michigan was to get leverage to get more money from LSU. I think Bill Martin knew this and thats why he didn't return call. When Les and his agent realized
Michigan wouldn't play that game they quickly jumped on LSU offer before LSU realized Mich wasn't that interested. If Les had honestly been considering Michigan he would have waited to talk to them after the game. Les also knew if he lost to tennesse the offer would be substantially less from LSU. I know he is a good coach but I am glad we didn't hire him. Sean Payton would be great, but find that very difficult to believe

He used Michigan to get leverage for more money? Didn't work, since he didn't have a dime added in his contract.

Like I said Martin didn't play that game. And He did get more If you count incentives. Also if you guys fire him your going to owe him a whole lot more money now. You guys need to quit pretending this guy walks on water now that he's staying.

Sean Payton said today that he has not been contacted by Michigan and is not interested in the job and feels that NO is one of the best jobs in the NFL.

Wrong. The money added to his salary was the already agreed upon raises in connection with winning the SECCG and a National Championship.
So, it wasn't for money.
As for Miles really wanting the Michigan job, there is not a single Tiger fan who really follows the program that would deny that fact. Its certainly is understandable, considering the circumstances.

As for Payton, he and his agent came out today and denied any discussion, whatsoever, with Martin, or anyone else at UM.
Seems Martin has a credibility problem.

If he's so bad, why are guys crying about not getting him?
Shovel your shite on your own board; they're use to wading through it.

"However, Payton denied the report during a news conference Friday afternoon, saying there’s been no contact between the university and him.

“…I think we have a good thing started here and we have a lot of work to do and we understand that and I have got great support from the ownership here and Mickey (Loomis), and I have got the best fans in football and this is the job for me and I am comfortable and very confident in saying that,” said Payton, now in his second year as Saints head coach. I'm telling you, Saban is Michigan's man. Perfect fit. No buyout
