It's really that simple.

Both times Cooper struggled to get his this season Bama's offense sputtered and put up just 17 @ Ole Miss and 14 @ Arkansas.

Cooper had 91 yards at Ole Miss but on 9 catches, they force him the ball, and Ole Miss did a good job keeping him contained from big gains for the most part.

Cooper has just 22 yards on 2 catches @ Arkansas, which also happened to be Alabama's worst offense performance all season putting up just 14 points.

We have got to keep Robinson and White on him man up with safety help over the top all game. If we do this, we can absolutely shut him down. We have shut him down the last 2 seasons but this season is the most critical because he absolutely IS their offense. They haven't been able to run the ball like they want to and could find it even harder with Cam Robinson out for the game.

Bama finds ways to get Cooper the ball and mostly on screen type short passes. So tackling will absolutely be key. We can sit 1 on 1 on the rest of Bama's receivers because they simply arent very good. OJ Howard has struggled at TE as has Christion Jones at WR with only 1 TD and is their 2nd leading receiver by far.

I dont think we'll get much of a pass rush this game even with C.Rob out because their game is all about short quick passes...we really need to bait a throw or two to Cooper and by God pick one of them off (enough of the drops).

Absolutely agreed. Kiffin and Sims love Cooper way too much

Cooper has 71 catches.

The next receiver has 23.

Is it really though? I understand they have become very centered on Cooper, but let's not pretend they don't have a stable of stud RBs and good Oline.

Whatever they did to keep treadwell in check is the answer against cooper. It worked like a charm.

Who do you think draws the assignment, White, Robinson, or Collins?

Arguably their best OL will be out for the game, he just had surgery on a ligament on his foot.

We can win, we must do exactly what we did against ole miss, control both line of scrimmages and run the ball effectively.

Is that all? That's the key for any team ever beating any other team ever.

Agreed. I haven't seen too much of Bama this year, but from what I have seen, they absolutely favor Cooper. Also, if the fans can get into Blake Sims' head like they got into Wallace's, that would be a huge help.

how handled Treadwill most of the Ole Miss game? I know I saw Collins on him a lot. Did White also play him man?

Treadwell is a great player and is close to the same talent level as Cooper, but he is not the same player as Cooper. Cooper is a far more polished receiver and is the focal point of the offense.

Not saying you are wrong or anything, but it will take an exceptional effort to shut Cooper down.

I think White has proven to be the best one on one corner this year and he should blanket Cooper all game and on occasion let Adams help in coverage. As long as our D-line can get pressure, we will be fine. LSU 28 Bama 24.

With Cam Robinson out I dont think any Bama fans would call the OL "Good", certainly not bad, but not good.

Bama has struggled to run the ball this year in some games, not the typical Bama rushing attack. They had just 168 yards on 44 carries against Ole Miss - 3.8 yards per carry. Just 66 yards on 32 carries against Arkansas - 2.1 yards per carry. 183 yards on 41 carries against Tennessee - 4.5 yards per carry.

What makes those 3 games significant? Those are Bama's only away games so far this year.

Pressure and containment of Simms, along with the bracketing of Cooper could well lead to success for the Tigers D. The Tiger shot-blockers could be a real key as well, since they'll likely see a barrage of short pass attempts as you pointed out.

They have used Cooper in the slot, in the H back position and everywhere else. The biggest thing with controlling him is being physical. If he is in the slot or lined up tight, they are gonna have to disrupt him getting off the line. Problem is going 3 wide and him getting matched up with a Safety.
