Per the Clarion Ledger.

The two have history together going back to their time on staff at Florida. Koenning also went to Texas for school.

Two pretty good "spread" guys hired between him and Wickline.

Looks like they are trying to turn Texas into the old Urban Meyer version of Florida.

Many analysts are calling Prescott a sleeper for next year’s Heisman.

Really!

Kind of strange move - OC to WR coach. But I read his title at MSU was largely just that.

Texas fans are not thrilled mainly because the WR coach is often a fireball recruiter and they don't think Les fits that bill.

They said the same shite about Relf a few years ago.

Dak will probably be the backup soon. Ms ST cant seem to stick to one QB for a whole season

Before people think this hurts State talk to people who are close to the program because we wanted him gone last year. Yeah he is a good coach but he didn't call the plays and couldn't recruit worth shite so we State fans are actually pretty happy

Yeah Mullen can handle play calling. Koenning looking long term - Mullen will probably return to hot seat next year and this buys Koenning a pretty good gig in Austin for the next 4/5 years.

This is a smart move on his part cause he sucked as an OC. Besides Prescott they really didn't have any offensive firepower. No real playmakers to speak of plus Mullen doesn't do extremely well next yer with all the returning players they have then he is gone anyway. Ole Miss is continuing to get better while they are making it to bowl games. Texas get ready for the spread without Tebow. Should be interesting.

Next year will be when we find out how good Mullen really is. We will have all returning starters except 2

He is also a shitty OC. No idea as a position coach though

You A$M fans sure are quick to bash your big brother in just about everything.

Actually this time we have real world experience. His boring offenses almost killed our program and ruined the best QB prospect we have had until JFF.

WTF are you on about? Settle down there little tiger. Koenning was the A&M OC for 4 years under Fran. Most Ags have a pretty strong opinion of him (and not a good one).**

Btw Shane, he was also our WR coach in the mid-90s for RC. We didn't ever throw so not much to go on but he was neither memorable as a coach or recruiter. However, I will say he's a helluva nice guy.

** ETA: I think he's unfairly maligned a lot because of Fran. It's really hard to judge him based on some of the things I've heard.

All I have to say is...... Thank God somebody in Texas was stupid enough to hire this retard away from us.

1. We're the big brother.

2. Koenning was Franchione's OC at A&M

You'd think "big brother" would know better than to hire someone that failed horribly at A&M. We know Franchione certainly didn't (Gary Darnell was a failure at Texas, and a failure for us)
