Dear Double Down, (and other Failcons fans)

Do you remember when I told you this: LINK
I even gave you further analogies of the Falocns demise before the opener vs the Saints: LINK
Here's another similar analogy I gave you before the preseason even ended: LINK
How many examples must I give you before you realize the Falcons aren't going 10-6 like you said they would:: LINK
Oh, and here's a picture I painted just for you guys:
quote:
The Falcons are going 6-10. You heard it here first.
Even though you think the roster has the making of being equally as successful (or better!) than last year, it is super difficult to replicate the same chemistry, stay healthy, and get the same breaks.
Likely storylines from the 2013 season:
1. The Falcons DL & OL has issues that will haunt them all season.
2. The new secondary will be a sieve.
3. Steven Jackson will under-perform like Corey Dillon did for the Pats in his last two seasons there.
4. Turnovers will almost double from last years results.
5. Forcing turnovers from opponents will drop dramatically.
6. Penalties will increase from mental mistakes after a few losses rack up.
7. A star will suffer a season-ending injury, and/or one will seriously disappoint.
8. The offense will put up plenty of meaningless stats but mostly from playing catch-up.
9.The Falcons won't get the same breaks, you know those little things that add up (like getting calls, balls bouncing the right way, etc)
10. Miracle endings (like in the Seattle game) won't materialize. Ryan gonna Ryan.
If you don't follow CFB, I suggest you start now, and but specifically watch for seniors and possible juniors that will help you in 2014. At least, that source of hope will make your weekends entertaining.
I even gave you further analogies of the Falocns demise before the opener vs the Saints: LINK
quote:
It will be a replay of the Saints-Vikings rematch of 2010.
Vikings were all set to prove to the world how "great" they were in 2009. And with their offseason acquisitions added to their already "great" team, they were sure they were gonna destroy the Saints and then the league.
They didn't realize how hard it is to re-ignite the same chemistry of a great season, how lucky it is to stay healthy, or get the same breaks & miracle endings.
The Vikings lost to the Saints 14-9, then went 6-10 for the season.
Now the Falcons have a suspect OL, a rebuilt secondary, and have heavily invested false hope in their newest used cars: Umenyiora & Jackson.
The Falcons will lose to the Saints and their season will be a sure disappointment.
Here's another similar analogy I gave you before the preseason even ended: LINK
quote:
Coming off of 2009, the Vikings were just a turnover away from the Super Bowl (like Atlanta). They thought they were the best team in the NFL and got jilted (like Atlanta). Even future HOFer Brett Favre thought he should come out of retirement (like future HOFer Gonzales) to take one last run at the Lombardi. But if you know anything about the league, it's so hard to duplicate a great season, re-ignite the same chemistry, and stay injury-free. After lofty preseason predictions, the mighty Vikings went just 6-10.

I think it's time to calm down now. They are way behind but there is still a lot of season left and we play them again. It doesn't look good for them but you never know

Just sayin
Oh and my response in the thread from the MSB before the season started in regards to the defense:
quote:
Anyone had a gut feeling before the 09 season that we were in for a good one? Anyone have that this year? I have the same feeling I did before 09, that this could be a special year.
Oh and my response in the thread from the MSB before the season started in regards to the defense:
quote:
What are we wanting here? The Saints will have one of the best defensive lines this year, or at least one of the most underrated for sure. They improved the secondary, and ILB is solid. OLB is a bit of a question, but if you are only a little worried about one spot I think you are ok. They didn't have the personnel for the scheme last year, but this scheme they absolutely do.

Nah, there's no fight left in them after this one.
They'll continue to say the right things, but its a spiral downward from here on out.
When you no longer believe in your chances (or maybe even your coach), mental errors occur, losses rack up, and indifference/check-collecting begins.
RISE UP! And fall down.

If Julio is healthy, they'll be okay, and be back in the hunt in a couple months

I really love self testimonials; they're a great way to say to the world: I'm here, I'm smart and I really matter.

No way Freek is right.
Failcons don't sniff 6 wins this year.

Yeah, he is gloating, but he gave specific reasons that he believes they wouldn't be able to replicate last seasons success. More than a couple of those have surfaced and so has the loses.
