I am planning on buying my dad a Henry Golden Boy .22 for Christmas and have been thinking about having it engraved with the family name/initial or just nice artwork.

Is there advice on where you should have something like this done? I live in Atlanta which is obviously a big city but I am not sure if this is something that would be best shipped out etc.

Thoughts?

Great idea, man! I literally just told my brother about this and we're going to go in halves for the GB Henry for our pops.

Having it done by Henry like Rompus suggested? I like that Henry can do it, but having a scrolling "N" with artwork would be a legendary family piece.

Henry does laser engraving. I really don't like it as it's not what most of us think about when we say "engraved". Love this idea by the way. Let us know what you go with.

My understanding is the metal first has to have the hardened metal annealed to make it soft enough to be engraved. The metal is engraved and then the metal has to be rehardend and finished either by case hardening, French grey, or blued. It is a labor intensive process in most cases...

Pretty, but I don't think any .44 Henry rimfire ammo still exists to shoot out of it.

Isn't the receiver on the new Henry's made of pot metal or some type of alloy?
