Just finished watching it. Wow. I'm going to watch it again with my wife later, probably tomorrow.

This was really good. Be prepared for a film that you will be watching several times!

Report back. I'm so interested in this movie. I've been wanting to see this for months.

Also didn't realize it had already come out on DVD...just bought it on Amazon.

Same. just watched it. Damn. Loved it.

That was an experience more than a film. Many Many layers.

But I could see some people hating it.

Have to watch this one

Here's the quick synopsis on Amazon:

A woman (Amy Seimetz) is abducted and hypnotized with an organic material harvested from a specific flower. When she falls for a man (Carruth) the two come to realize he may also have been subjected to the same process.

exactly

It has 3 distinct acts, the first of which is definitely the easiest to follow.

The process of watching what's happening and soaking it in, is a pleasant experience, even if you're having trouble keeping up

I can definitely see and understand people hating it too

yeaaaa. it's sooo vague

SPOILERSSS:

what I gathered.

There is a woman, Kris. A man, Jeff who have both undergone some type of parasitic infection, though we only see Kris's.

There is a thief, who is seemingly aware of these infections and takes advantage of people during this, able to control their minds for monetary gain.

There is "The sampler" who is a pig farmer and is also aware of these infections, as he is able to transfer it from Kris to one of his pigs. This infection somehow links all those infected and he uses his pig as a gateway to fuel his voyeurism.

The infection/parasite/worm thingie goes through a 3 stage life cycle.

END SPOILERS

Obviously, I want to watch it again and find as much material to read, but this is my reaction after an initial viewing and reading very limited info on it

You are forgetting the person who sells the plants. Seemingly they all profit from some stage of the parasites life.

Taking Money, Selling CDs, Selling plants.

I'm curious on just how the pig farmer is using the sound to draw the victims to "harvest" the worms?
