Parnell went 25-7 in that '49 season, leading the AL in wins, complete games (27) and innings pitched.

Listened to him pitch on radio with my dad at the end of his career, and heard all his stats over and over during my high school days when Parnell was a Red Sox broadcaster and liked to talk about himself.
