I read a quote by Darrel Royal (rip) where he said the reason he retired was because losses became devastating and wins were a relief and not joyful anymore.
Made me realize, I'm more relieved than happy with wins now...

So are you going to retire and stop watching the games?

sorry to hear that. maybe take it too seriously, you have zero control over the football team you root for

Im happy after a win and move on after a defeat

you can change that, man. i'm serious. there are things bigger than LSU football. just compartmentalize it to the week-end and monday starts a new week. but i know what you mean. good luck.

I guess you can finally breathe your sigh of relief about 5 days after the game once you realize the refs and the Pac 12 haven't caught you cheating that week and your win will stand.

Bingo. I would be relieved if I played or coached, but I dont have control so I am happy.

Lol, I retired from Coaching. Maybe I shouldn't have given up drinking!

I used to be more depressed over losses than happy over wins. I don't know, I've mellowed in my old age. Now I'm just happy when we win and I can slough off losses pretty quickly.

Win during expected 12-0 season: relieved.

Win during an expected 8-4 season: Happy, excited.

It's just that simple.

I expect the teams that I root for (LSU, Navy, Saints) to play their best and beat teams they are better than ... and, if they do that and lose to a better team, so be it.

I am relieved when they don't play well at all, but somehow figure out a way to win. (see: LSU vs. Barn, 2012)

You are happy to beat teams that are "better than you. You are happy to beat miss st if they are the last team on the sched and it guarantees a bcs bid or a high chance at the natty. We get happy if they beat bamma instead of what happened. Hell, they spread their legs more for aTm! If we are happy and pumped for them then it seems there is no hope for being the #1 team!! Im happy to beat them if the converted every trick play in their book to stay in the game. To hell with the pre-2ks. This is here and now. We are a "damn strong fooootbaul teem"!! Miss St, not so much.
USCe & Bamma are the only two teams I'm happy to beat this year. No excuses to lose to anybody else. UF is wack and aTm is who they are every year. They always did crush teams in the first half of games and lose the second. They did that about four times in big games last year. It just makes them look better since sec's offenses are << to the big12. We dont throw as much so it benefits them. They were bound to pull one out. They will be garbage next year. Teams now know their ways now and will adjust. Same case for the one year wonder for the wildcat in the nfl.

I'm never relieved. I'm estatic after wins, and pretty upset with loses.

After a win, I'm mostly relieved, and I think that's unfortunate. I should enjoy the wins more than I do, but its a symptom of success I think.
