Our only points against UF came on a punt return by Green in a 19-7 loss at home. And that was to a mediocre UF team compared to this squad IMO

We all know what happened after that. I'm afraid the injuries might be piling up too much to make an epic run like that. We'll find out if this team can bounce back against USCe. If we can find a way, any way, to win that game then all possibilities are in play.

BUT, the defense this year is just as good as the 2003 defense IMO

If we can find an identity on offense (and perhaps losing in this fashion is what it will take to make necessary changes) then we can beat anyone.

Again, please don't compare this team with the 03' squad.

I wish I could find it.

So you think scoring 0 offensive points at home and getting beat by a true freshman QB on a 4 loss team is somehow better than this loss?

In that game? No

You know what game we really found our identity that year? South Carolina

ya thinK

2001 and 2003 were record breaking offenses as was 2007........we have not seen anything like that in ages.

we all know why we scored what we did last year now.

field position

deep threat in RR

a run game which could do the impossible in running against 8 and 9 men in the box.

HONEY BADGER who changed games.

Its not about the one loss yesterday. Its that the writing is on the wall for our offense. Everyone knew what was going to happen and we are an embarassment offensively right now.

the thing about the Florida game in 2003 is the team wasn't use to winning every game out. Remember in 2002 we were 8-5. We were coming off a big last second Georgia win, and were flat the next week against a rebuilding Florida team with a freshman qb.

Despite the embarrassing offensive stats, it was still a 1 poss. game and only took one voodoo play to be a two point conversion away.

LSU could've won the game with mere competency on offense.

55 of those yards came on the last drive in junk time

If you want to look at a pathetic offensive performance, look no further than 2003 LSU against UF

We weren't particularly impressive on offense vs UGA in that game either if IIRC

I wouldn't say that early in the 2003 season that the offense looked awesome. And we won the national championship.

The 2003 situation is nothing like this. The only thing similar is the opponent that we lost to.

You said it yourself....you are looking for anything positive.

2003 Offense in SEC play: 28.5 points per game.
2012 Offense in SEC play: 8 points per game.

So yeah, give or take three touchdowns per game, it's exactly the same.

The scenario is the same. We had injuries in the running game. We found our offensive identity with 263 yards rushing from Broussard and Vincent against the COCKS and rode it all the way to the NC.

It can be done again.

Obviously the OP is saying that our team has been in a similar scenario and came out winners.

There is someone on this team that can step up and become the pace setter like in 2003...

The best thing we can do IMHO is just support our TEAM right now..

2003 first off had a great coaching staff that you knew would correct the issues after the Florida loss. I think Chief is doing a great job, but other than him, who else is? I have no faith in the current staff to fix the problems offensively.

They also had a tremendous amount of leadership, where it seems that this team has none. I think it shows.

The 03' team rolled through after the Florida loss. I do not see the same happening with the 12' team due to the reasons I stated above. The 03' team was special and shouldn't be compared to this group.
