I just got an email from the Lobster guy that I bought from earlier this summer. Thought I would pass it on if anyone is interested...

quote:

12 1.5lb lobsters for $119.99
24 1.5lb lobster for $199.99
I will still have lobster available all year but prices will double by end of year. Have a good weekend.

Price inlcudes overnight shipping. I know a couple of other people that ordered besides me and all were happy.

You are like a pawn broker with grills and the lobsters.

Yeah, I gotta admit I am tempted. Trying to find someone else to split with me. Can't eat 12 lobsters by myself.

I guess it was a good thing I didn't discuss the Yeti ice chest order...

To quote Ferris Yetis, lobsters, and Primos are, "very nice if you have the means"

I know everyone wants fresh lobster but if you bought these and froze them would they still taste about the same? And by the way what the hell is up with that Auburn shirt in the background?

Not sure about that,I think fresh is better than frozen when it comes to pretty much everything. But I do wonder bout that Auburn shirt

Fine to eat, but my understanding is that either the taste or texture changes where it is not as good as fresh.

Friends from Mobile (wife's family grew up there) and it is better than them being Alabama fans...

You would have to cook the lobsters before freezing them for it to be good. Lobsters are like crabs/crawfish in that the meat deteriorates when they die. If you break off the tails when dead then it's a different story.

They do however sell cooked frozen whole lobsters. Never tried them though.

Did they turn out better grilled or steamed?

They were actually boiled like crawfish. I liked the grilled better, the boiled picked up very little seasoning, even with extra soaking. Others liked the boiled better. The grilled really picked up the smoke flavor.

Do you have a spiny lobster connection? I think they are superior to rockies in flavor and texture, nd i have a rew recipes in my head for them. Spending some time on an island give this one some inspiration. In terms of catching your dinner a snorkel, mask, fins and a mop that has been sawed off is all one needs, and a pillow case for the offerings of the sea. A fruit de mer platter should take an hour or two in the water to produce, and with the views availible as the sun sets a very nice experience for al fresco dining.

Boiling has to be the worst way to cook a lobster.

Lobsters look great. BGE gasket holding up well( mine has been missing for about a year) , what's with the camo jorts in pic 1? Auburn man "you want some of me?", and grandma poured the beer down her shirt.
