TDFL Tiger Conference Post draft rankings

1. Reddman- Came out the draft with 3 solid RBs (MJD, SJax, Bradshaw) and 3 solid WRs (Roddy, Steve Smith, VJax). I have him in the top 3-4 in the league at each of those positions. In a normal draft, those are top 6-7 Round draft guys. Vernon Davis is a solid TE. He has options, which is why I have him at #1. However... MJD's pending holdout, and Peyton Manning's injury history could spell doom for him if either were to miss significant time.
Must note that he did not come out of the draft with MJD's handcuff, or a legit backup QB. But his depth at other positions is superb, which is why i have him so high. Steady across the board.
2. Swamie- I thought Swam managed his budget maybe better than anyone. THat was even with high spending on Aaron Rodgers. He came out of the draft with Adrian Peterson(and handcuff Gerhart), Fred Jackson. Those are 2 solid RBs. But his depth drops off tremendously afterward. At WR he has Nicks/Cruz/and Colston. All are WR1, Colston may be borderline. I actually like his starters better than Reddman, but his depth is not the same. If he gets production out the Minn tandem, and a full 16 out of Fred Jackson, he is going to win more times than not.
3. Gyno- I know people are pointing out his lack of RBs, but as of now he does have Jennings, who will start week 1. Stewart is underrated as he has mentioned earlier today, and is an injury away from being a top 10 RB. But that is not what i like about his team. I love the explosiveness. Vick, when healthy, is a huge game waiting to happen. Same can be said for Calvin Johnson and Andre Johnson. Expect a slight down-tick by Gronk, but he is still going to be a top 3 TE. With all that explosiveness comes downside, as both Vick and AJ80 just cant stay healthy. If he can get 13-14 games from those 2 and have them healthy down the stretch, that will be sick.
4. Phan- Another i thought did well balancing his budget. Though i dont like his as much as i did at first glance. But top to bottom it is pretty solid. I thought it was huge that he was able to get Bush to handcuff Forte; everyone saw what he could do last year when given time. No aggressive bids whatsoever for Bush, which was shocking to me. Lesean McCoy is a stud, goes without saying. Romo is steady, they will throw a lot. I think the 2 Pitt WR will be interesting, Im never high on Wallace's boom or bust games, but Antonio Brown is very solid. Pierre Garcon is sitting there too, i think he could have a pretty big year. Donald Brown (a starter) and Celek/Finley(2 top 10 TE's) round out his roster. Solid team.
5. TThomas- Sat on his money for a while it seemed last night, but I like the outcome. His team is not flashy, but i think each will he is set to be pretty steady. Just want to point out he stole Harvin, i forget the bid but i remember saying "damn!". Throw Pettigrew and Blackmon in that number too. Really paid off to sit patiently for him.
I really like Matt Ryan this year too. Benson & HIllis will quietly have nice years i think, which is a big reason i have him so high. He also has high volume pass catchers in Sproles/Pettigrew. I think Justin Blackmon will also be one of those guys, too. Solid team, me like.
6. Toula - Im going to put Toula this high assuming Ryan Matthews is going to not be a pussy. Matthews, coupled with Brees, and Brandon Marshall, is a nice powerful 3 some. If anyone is in the other league we are in, knows how much i like Reggie Wayne. I think he has a borderline WR1/2 in Wayne. Ridley, Willis or Redman should provide him with a solid RB2. One should emerge. Tony G was a steal late too i thought. To sum up, elite QB, solid run game, & strong WR's. Maybe should be higher. Lets see what happens with Matthews.
7. Lester- my Graham pick was definitely the laughing stock of last night, which didn't quite work out like I had hoped. I still thought I salvaged my draft though. Rice/Graham obvious studs. Jennings/Bowe are both WR1, imo. And both have "rebound" years. Green-Ellis will be steady, & i think between DHB or Santonio, you'll see one of these guys really emerge(or re-emerge). My QB situation isn't ideal, but if Fitzpatrick plays like he did before he got hurt last year, he was good enough for roughly 20PPG. We'll see.
8. CE Tiger- Could be higher on paper, but these are my rankings, and i simply don't like some of his players. Others do though. I love Stafford, he's a stud. Jamal Charles, McFadden, and Lynch were a majority of his budget, and all 3 have huge question marks. He took these guys, and really took at hit at WR because of it. At full health & sanity these guys are really good, but McFadden is never healthy, Lynch, is he a 1 year wonder? Will his attitude ruin him? Charles, relied so much on explosion. How will he be after knee surgery? Will he have to hit a "HR" in order to score? How many carries will Hillis eat up? Goaline? Pass catching? I really think they will be gun shy to give Charles more than 180-200 carries. Will be hard to go over the 6.0 YPC he saw a few years ago. Anyway, let's say these guys pan out, or even 2 of them, and he could be OK. Even though his WR's are not great.
9. PCT- I know people said he over spent on Newton, but I liked the pick. Port has a huge boom or bust team in my opinion. Trading Victor Cruz for Gore, im not sure I would have done. AJ Green is legit, but its tough to have confidence in Desean Jackson & Miles Austin. ANd he seems to have a lot. If either of these guys come back to form, then he is pushed way up this list, into the top 4 or 5. Demarco Murray is talented, but injury prone, dating back to college. I liked the Owen Daniels pick late. Nice value. Not a big fan of his bench other than AMendola.
10. Honkus- I thought Honk was on the right track early in the draft. He stole Fitz & Welker I thought. Foster was a solid pick, but I cant say i liked much else of his draft. He got Ben Tate, that was big. Witten seems to be worse than thought, but he is a tough guy. I hate hate hate Deangelo Williams, unless Stewart gets hurt. He's an ultimate cocktease. Like Decker's upside if he can stay healthy. Outside of myself and Dan, his QBs may be the next worst situation.
11. ODUdan- I actually love Dan's WR... Julio, Jordy, & Lloyd will all have good seasons i feel. I like CJ2K this year too, he will be his old self. His lack of QB is weighing him down, as well as overall depth. Reggie Bush is more of a flex guy, not a RB2. ANd he is injury prone. I like Aaron Hernandez, but not much else there gives me that tingle.
12. SFP- I cant really give a fair value on his team until he deals these QBs. I like his RB depth, but no one really stands out. IMO, his WR's are a mess. Dez as a #1 is kind of scary. Lance Moore and Meachem, who knows what you will get. I think he will have a better chance dealing one of his purgatory RBs than the QBs he stocked up on. Yes, teams need QBs, but I dont think people are going to be willing to pay what he wants.
Overall, analyzing these teams, it is really hard to find a "bad" team. Even someone like Dan's team could explode. And our course free agency & injuries play a huge part. There will be a lot of moving during the year, these just reflect how I feel after the draft. Good luck to everyone.

Its hard to say. With your antics and the general terrible auction drafting skills of the conference as a whole, I can't really say much but this conference is fricking terrible and no way does the winner come from it.

I got Desean for 8. I think they are pretty close in value.

Cool, so the only way the graham owner would come off of him is if someone offered Welker and nelson?
Seems strange

i just dont see how my squad with stafford, dmac, charles, lynch, and 2 decent wrs wont be in top 6 each week. (granted this is as long as dmac stays healthy which this year i feel he will) charles best years came with thomas jones stealing carries so im not really worried about hillis messing with his value
Posted on 8/27/12 at 4:38 pm to CE Tiger
Thomas is a decent receiver. Who is the other one?
Posted on 8/27/12 at 4:41 pm to CE Tiger
I really see you as a better team than Toula's and right there with Thomas's. I do like my team today better than I did last night, but I feel I can say the same about my RB as Les did about yours.

Demarius Thomas?
Nah...how many catches was his high....Like 30?
And isn't he always injured? Missed like 11 games in his 2 seasons as a wr4
maybe but wayyyy risky

I figured I'd be down there due to my QBs, but I think I can outperform this ranking.
