Not to jump the gun but REAL Possibility of Back 2 Back

Can't help thinking that as confident as I am about the BCS Championship game, that next season we are so talented that a trip to Miami next year will happen even with 1 loss.

Nothing wrong with being excited pal.

We should probably win the first one first.

I like the way you think and I love above and beyond trance around the world

Sounds like you are auditioning for an ESPN analyst position. Remember the threepete for SC?
How did that work out.
I'll be happy with one, then dream about the second all summer long.

Since we will probably have to run the table AGAIN, to make it to the championship game, it is highly unlikely, but possible. This is depending on a lot of factors, not the least of which is how our new quarterbacks adjust to the big time, players going pro, and the schedule, which has yet to be released.
BUT Let's win Jan 9th then worry about next year.

I can see that happening.

you're right. If this fan loses his focus...I'm sure his play during the game on the 9th will suffer

I think winning 2 out of the next 3 is highly possible. If not next year, I think the next will be all tigers.

I am confident we win on Jan 9th. This team will find a way even if we are down at half time like the last two ballgames. All of this is assuming a victory vs Bama II. Next years schedule and all players returning is too awesome not to think about it.

Do you realize how fortunate we are as LSU fans? I mean getting to see LSU win one National Championship is great but we have seen LSU win 2 and some of us 3 National Championships in our lifetime. Sure there is a chance that LSU can win the next 2 National Championships, but let's not miss out on the enjoyment of today by thinking about what might happen next year. There is plenty of time for that next year.

We'll have to see how everything plays out. There is a long offseason ahead of us. We have the draft, attrition, suspensions, injuries, etc to worry about.
If Mett is as good as expected, then we could be really good again next year.
On offense we lose JJ, Lee, Stampley, Blackwell, TBob, Peterson, and possibly Randle.
On defense we lose Ken Adams, Steffon Francois, Hatcher, Baker, Claiborne, Brooks, Bryant, and Taylor, and possibly Montgomery.
Not a ton of starters, but we do lose a lot of leadership and depth, especially at CB, LB, and DE (if Montgomery goes).
We have to hope no one gets seriously hurt before next year and no one gets kicked off the team. If we don't face any major blows in the offseason, I'd expect us to be the preseason favorites.

Yes, the fact that we can realistically talk about the chances of back-to-back national championships illustrates that point.

It's real hard to go back to back in College even HARDER in Today's SEC.
However, I'll say that LSU has the BEST chance to do so by far.
Young Team with an AWESOME 'D' and a Power Running Game. All they need is a QB to complete 12 or more passes a game.
So again I'll say, they have a chance to pull an OU or Ohio St back to back trips.
Especially with Bama being depleted next year, Hogs with new Staff, Florida looking lost. I'd be more concerened about UGA and South Carolina.
Should be another great season though with at least a trip to the Sugar Bowl.

You're right. One loss in the SEC West and it almost seems like you're out of luck (with this year obviously being the exception). Our schedule is brutal and it only takes one slip-up. Plus we have the obstacle of the SEC Championship game as well.
One thing is for sure, when we win the NC, we deserve it.

Assuming that we take care of business and send the Tide packing on Jan 9th, I think a lot of people are going to start thinking "Repeat".
No doubt even with losses on Offense, we should easily start the preseason in the top-10, probably top-5 depending on how the analysts view our QB situation. Our Defense will once again be stifling, brutal, and impenetrable. I have a feeling that our O will actually be more explosive with Mettenberger taking over, with Randall having an option/read package, OBJ/Landry/Boone/Johnson/etc on the outside, and a n amazing stable of RB's --- with Hilliard, Ford, Ware, Blue, Magee, Hill ( good lord we're stacked ) and what looks to be a great Offensive Line.
Could we go undefeated again and win the SEC / BCS? Sure.
The problem is, you just never know whats going to happen in the landscape of college football. You never know what freshman or new starter, or JUCO recruit is going to step up and make a team incredibly hard to beat.
When Tebow was taking snaps behind Chris Leak, I doubt anyone knew then that he was going to be the best college football player in decades. Also, I don't think ANYONE thought, back in 2009, with that moron Chizik as coach, that Auburn, by simply buying ( or recruiting ) a talented JUCO QB and having a trashy thug DLineman step up, was going to go undefeated and win the BCSNCG. Those 2 players made all the difference and essentially won the NC for Auburn. Case in point, you know that there are teams that are likely to be consistently good.....LSU, Bama, Oklahoma, Oregon, USC....even Arky, Michigan, Wisconsin, Okie State, et al.....but you never know what or who is going to make the difference to take a team to that elite level in any given year.

Not only will we repeat, but we'll repeat repeat. I see us winning 7 NCs in a row. Keep the dream alive!

Pretty good I'd imagine with the talent on the team that should be back next year - BUT, I'm a little superstitious about getting my hopes up, so I'll just settle for a win in January for now!
